Taylor Lautner is an American actor who was born on February 11, 1992 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Taylor is not only an actor, but also a martial artist. He has won three Junior World Championship. He began his career as a martial artist at only six years old, when he began to train at Fabiano's Karate School in Holland, Michigan. He competed in his first national karate tournament at the age of seven and was awarded three first-place trophies. Then, Taylor began to train with seven-time world champion Mike Chat. When he was eight, he was invited to represent the United States for the World Karate Association. He became the Junior World Forms and Weapons Champion, making him a triple gold medal winner. In 2003, he was invited to join the XMA Performance Team, led by Mike Chat.

Taylor performed for LA Hip Kids, which is a hip-hop dancing group. He also was part of Hot Shots which was a Jazz dance group.

When Taylor decided to become an actor, his family, tired of traveling from Michigan to auditions, relocated to Los Angeles. Since moving, Taylor has become a very successful actor, getting roles on television series such as My Wife and Kids, Summerland, and The Bernie Mac Show. He had a role in Cheaper by the Dozen 2, the sequel to the Steve Martin family comedy. He portrayed "Shark Boy" in The Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl, a movie directed by Robert Rodriguez. Taylor is also a voiceover actor, providing his voice for Danny Phantom, What's New Scooby Doo, and He's a Bully, Charlie Brown. Taylor's biggest role to date is the character of Jacob Black in the box-office hit Twilight, based on the best-selling novel with the same title. He is going to reprise the role for the movie's sequel The Twilight Saga: New Moon.
