Developing a state-of-the-art collections management system

A cornerstone project in the Library’s efforts to improve online discoverability and access to our iconic collections is the development of a state-of-the-art collections management system.

In order to manage increasing digital content and meet our clients need for online discovery and seamless access to our collections, the Library is seeking to engage an organisation capable of delivering an integrated system which encompasses:

  • Published Collections Management
  • Archival Collections Management
  • Digital Asset Management
  • Digital Preservation
  • Resource Discovery.

This solution will be known as our Integrated Collections Management System and will represent the best in library and information management technology – managing our diverse and complex collections and providing the ideal platform for opening our collections to the world.

The Library Systems Integration Project (LSIP), which will operate over the next three years, is now underway.  On 21 August 2013 an invitation for Expressions of Interest was issued, seeking responses from organisations ready to help the Library develop an Integrated Collections Management System. Expressions of Interest will close on 25 September 2013 at 2pm.

Following this, a short-list of companies will be selected to participate in a tender later in 2013.
