I’ve been marinated, deep fried, tumble washed and hung out to dry... but strangely enough I feel on top of the world.  If you told me 50 weeks ago that I would be completing
a golden jubilee with this column, I would have laughed, given you some coffee and asked you to get real!

But then milestones are there to be set, unwittingly, as in this case. This column, and infact, writing, started as an experiment... to try new things... expand my horizons... and more importantly express myself in a way that I haven’t done before. Fifty columns down the line, and I’ve discovered a new love for the written word! It’s been a roller coaster ride of true love and pure hate, joy and sorrow, highs and lows but something I wouldn’t trade for anything in the world! I thought it only fitting that I share the milestones of my big milestone and acknowledge the people that kept me going for 50 weeks!

My meeting with the HT team — Sonal and Vasantha (it’s my column... don’t you dare erase any names ladies!) sitting there, all serious and professional, telling me to write a weekly column. I wanted to tell them that they were making a big mistake but chose to give it a shot because of their compelling pitch! Thank you ladies for giving me the opportunity and for the constant support (irrespective of all the deadlines I stretched!)

Feedback from the readers
I was shocked and then overjoyed by the mails that poured in after my first column. There was so much love that I was spurred on to keep writing.  Thank you dear readers... you guys are what kept me going till today. Thank you my dear readers... you guys are what kept me going, week after week, irrespective of the drivel I wrote The ‘Sister Series’ —  An idea that just popped into my head and one that has found a huge connect with a lot of my readers (the boys love it too!).  I love being a woman and this is a celebration of all the unique things that make us so wonderful! The Sister Series is here to stay!

Going head-to-head with Imran and the boys — Never pick a fight with the sisters! We always win! I truly enjoyed the battle of words (and minds) with Imran. I’m sure our paths will cross again fellow columnist... maybe we can get together and pick on the other new columnists of Celeb and the City!

The opportunity to express myself — I’m a private person and never thought that I could express my feelings. But strangely enough, whenever I sat down to write this column, my inner most thoughts came to the fore. Maybe it was because I knew you all would be supportive and understanding or maybe it was just a subconscious therapy of sorts... whatever it was, it worked.

I don’t know how much I’ve got left in me but I do know that I'm not going to stop writing anytime soon! Thank you once again for the support and the encouragement. I’ll see you all again next Friday, same time, same place... straight from my heart... directly to you!
