Strawberry Lemon Sorbet Recipe
Are you in the mood for something sweet and cold? I always am! Summer is here so I hope you try this simple dessert that can be ready in less than 5 minutes. It is sweet and tart all at the same time so it really wakes up your taste buds.
Cup of frozen Strawberries Juice of a lemon 1-2 Tablespoons sweetener of choice, I used simple syrup but you could use plain sugar, honey or any artificial sweetener Food processor or blender
I made this in my food processor but you can use your blender or even let the fruit thaw a while and smash with a fork. This recipe is really easy to adapt for what you have on hand to use.
- Start by leaving the frozen berries on your counter for 15 minutes
- Add all ingredients to your food processor starting with less sweetener then blend for about 30 seconds, scrape down sides of the food processor
- Blend until you reach you desired consistency I like to leave a few pieces of strawberry in mine for texture
- Taste and add more sweetener if needed
I love the sweet and sour combination!
You can easily make this your own by changing the type of fruit you use. I think blueberry would be delicious as well or a mixed berry combination. You can also add more, less or part of the lemon in the food processor for some extra tartness. Strain the mixture if you do not like seeds in your sorbet. If your mixture is very soft you can put it back in the freezer for 5 minutes but I usually eat it right away! If you are looking for a healthier version you do not have to add any sweetener.
