3.0 out of 5 stars Would recommend to others, but not the gold standard yet November 12, 2010
By Jenika
I'm a professional photographer and have been using the Shootsac for a couple of months. Overall, I would recommend it, with a few gripes to watch out for. Let's start with the good stuff:

1) Look: 5 stars out of 5. First of all, the product is well-branded. Everything from the box it comes in to the distinctive look it has while you're shooting says that it was well thought out. It definitely looks cute, the cover options are delicious, and I've gotten compliments from nearly every client and anyone who sees it. They think it's a great shoulder bag, not a lens bag.
2) Ease of Use and Comfort: 5 out of 5. It is very comfortable to wear, and once I'm lost in shooting I hardly notice it is there. For me, this was reason alone to buy it. I want to be thinking about my clients and my photos, not my gear. The three-pocket design is useful in that it curves around your body, even when lenses are in it. The shoulder strap is sewn onto the bag on one end and has a heavy-duty fastener so you can unhook the other end. This is handy because sometimes I carry a reflector and can just slide the reflector over the strap, fasten it, and carry it along with me hands-free. It does bounce around and isn't the most convenient thing in the world, but at least it's there.
3) Durability: 5 out of 5 so far. Can't speak to this in the long-term since I've only had it a couple of months, but thus far it's held up very well. The neoprene feels durable and snag-resistant, the cloth cover is holding up very nicely. Since it stays on your body while you're shooting, it doesn't really take a huge beating other than getting bounced around a bit.

So far, so good.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cool Bag but Don't Buy it Here February 20, 2009
By behren
This is a cool bag, but it's spendy. If you go to the shootsac website and sign up for their mailing list, several times a year you'll get a coupon code for $30 off the bag, as well as discounts for the covers.

This is a video made by the Shadowplay Photography and Video team in Australia. They purchased a Shootsac, and after using it decided to make this video to talk about it. It was a completely unsolicited video, and we would like to share it with potential buyers of the Shootsac.

2.0 out of 5 stars Strap is very uncomfortable June 29, 2011
By Kate

While this looks like it should be the perfect bag, it's very uncomfortable and the strap digs into your neck. This is not what I want when I'm shooting a 9 hour wedding. Another photographer friend of mine had the same problem. I had to return it. Until Jessica fixes this issue, I won't be buying another shootsac.. no matter how cute it is!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great product, a little pricey. September 17, 2008
A little expensive for its purpose, but works well. The strap does have a tendency to dig into the shoulder, so I purchased a gel strap to go over it. Great stretchy material & concept.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great product, but can use some tweaks May 16, 2012

I got my shootsac last week, and have used it once so far. I love the design. It fits snuggly against the body while shooting. I agree with another poster who said the shoulder pads should be standard. After a while, the lenses do become a little weighty.

My other issue was that the velcro that holds the flap is not sewn in with reinforcements. This is a bit of a problem since the first time I went to detach the velcro, I also ended up pulling out the velcro side that was sewn in. I sent the following email to the company, but got no response.

"Hi there,
I just received my Shootsac today from Amazon via Adorama. I was excited to receive it, as I'd been waiting since last week for it to arrive. As you can imagine, I looked in all of the holes, and snapped and unsnapped the snaps to get an idea of how things worked. I then reached for the velcro to detach the cover. I must have grabbed the wrong part because I noticed that the part that was sewn in was detaching as well. I didn't tug that hard, but yet the thread was dangling. I really like the look, feel, and build of the Shootsac. But my one suggestion would be to at the very least, reinforce the edges where the velcro comes detached. For something that costs nearly $200 to purchase, the threading should be more solid than that. Now, for an item that I haven't even had the pleasure of using yet, I have to spend a few minutes sewing in the velcro edge and adding reinforcements so this doesn't happen again. Again, I look forward to using my Shootsac, but I just wanted to point out where it could be improved."

As I mentioned, I got no response. Not a "thanks for the feedback. We will work on that." Not a "wow, you're an idiot for pulling on the wrong part." Nothing.

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE IT July 18, 2012
By ne
I bought my shootsac about 2 years ago directly from their website after being told by a friend that it was "the best thing since sliced bread".. it was a little pricy I thought but hey if its that good then so be it... I currently shoot weddings, parties, and senior pictures, however weddings are the bulk of my photography, I shoot an average of 5 weddings a month, and my 2 year old shootsac is still running strong, I carry 70-200 2.8 IS in the back pocket, 16-35 in the front and the 100 macro in the middle with a plethora of other things in the back (batteries, cards, business cards, keys). If I am shooting it's on my back, I never go anywhere without it... All this to say the shootsac is a GAME CHANGER when it comes to on the move, fast action, multiple lens photography gigs like weddings are, i couldn't imagine shooting a wedding now without it.. it really is "the best thing since sliced bread". only thing I can't comment on is the digging into the shoulder thing, im a guy with pretty big shoulders and it never even gets close to my neck.. If you think it might be an issue I would get the shoulder pad too.
