App Shelf Changes, Window Expose Arrive in Latest Chrome OS Dev Update

Chrome Overview Mode

The latest update to the Google Chrome OS dev channel has brought with it several new features.

Amongst them are the ‘new look’ app Shelf. The ‘App Launcher’ button has been moved from the right-hand side of the Shelf to the left:

Shelf ‘pop-ups’ (the app launcher and the system tray balloon) no longer have ‘spikes’ below them:

Also new in this update is the ability to remove apps from the Shelf by dragging them off.

And remember that natty overview feature we recently previewed? That’s enabled by default, too.

This latest update is rolling out now, but you’ll need to be on the developer channel to get it.

I am so angry with this new Chrome Shelf. I have my taskbar set up the way I liked it and now it is hidden by this stupid Chrome Shelf. I am ready to export my bookmarks and go back to Mozilla. In fact, I probably will.
