thumbnail Hello,

Jamil has roped in another striker ahead of the I-League opening clash against the Flaming Oranje on Saturday

Mumbai FC have bolstered their attack by adding Orok Essien to their roster. The 21-year old striker last played for Railway FC in West Bengal.

“Orok has signed for the club. He is a good player and shall help our attack,” informed Atul Bagdamia, Mumbai FC’s deputy vice-president.

“He is young and very quick. His heading ability is good and can run into spaces,” coach Khalid Jamil shared some of his observations on the latest recruit.

Jamil has two foreign players at his disposal ahead of the I-League opener against Sporting Clube de Goa in Haroon Amiri and Orok. Yusif Yakubu is expected to arrive on the eve of the clash.

“Yakubu will leave his country today for India. If he comes, I won’t start with him but will use him if needed in the second half,” Jamil told Goal.

The battle for the fourth foreign player is between Afghanistan striker Sanjdar Ahmadi and Liberian attacker Alfred Jaryan. Though the possibility of the former making the cut looks unlikely as team sources indicated that Jaryan should be in the country before their second game of the season.

“The two are having problems with their visa. Whoever comes first to our camp will be our fourth foreigner for the season,” said Jamil.
