Rarity

We haven't been able to find much information on the actual rarity of HorrorClix pieces.  Hopefully more information will be developed as future releases occur.

Our Booster Pulls: The Lab     Freakshow     Nightmares

Base Set Booster Monsters-

There were apparently 4,167 cases of boosters distributed, meaning 50,004 bricks or 200,016 boosters.

Each of the 4,167 cases of the HorrorClix base set should contain the following number of figures of each rarity level-
Rarity 1: 3 figures/case (12,501 total)
Rarity 2: 3 figures/case (12,501 total)
Rarity 3: 2 figures/case (8,334 total)
Rarity 4: 1 figure/case (4,167 total)
Rarity 5: 1 figure/case (4,167 total)
Rarity 6: 1.33 figures/case (5,542 total)

Additionally, each booster pack should contain 2 commons (HrC-001 thru HrC-036), 1 uncommon (HrC-037 thru HrC-060), and 1 rare (HrC-061 thru HrC0-84) or unique (HrC-085 thru HrC-096).

Base Set Starter Monsters -

We have been unable to discover production numbers for the Base Set Starters, so have no reliable information aboutthe rarity of these figures.

However, WizKids was originally suggesting that retailers order two cases of boosters and one case of starters.  Therefore, we're assuming that they produced approximately one-half the number of starter cases as they did of booster cases.  This would mean 2,083 cases of starter sets were produced.  Each case contained 12 starters meaning there would have been 24,996 of each starter figure made, giving it an approximate rarity of 0.5 or one half the rarity of the most common booster figures.

Base Set Factory Sets - (Stock Number PP639)

In addition to the monsters released in boosters, etc, WizKids produced 154 factory sets.  A couple of these were given as prizes at conventions, while others were sent to media and distributors.  The factory sets contain all of the Plot Twists, victims, and monsters (minus the four LE prize figures, but including Morgana and Jack The Ripper), and the Tree of Sorrows and both tombstones from the starter.

The Lab Rarity - (Stock Number WZK0676)

There were apparently 3,299 cases of The Lab boosters distributed, meaning 13,196 bricks or 158,352 boosters.

The Lab follows the same rarity as the base set:

Rarity 1: 3 figures/case (9,897 total)
Rarity 2: 3 figures/case (9,897 total)
Rarity 3: 2 figures/case (6,598 total)
Rarity 4: 1 figure/case (3,299 total)
Rarity 5: 1 figure/case (3,299 total)
Rarity 6: 1.33 figures/case (4,388 total)

Additionally, each booster pack should contain 2 commons (HrC-001 thru HrC-036), 1 uncommon (HrC-037 thru HrC-060), and 1 rare (HrC-061 thru HrC0-84) or unique (HrC-085 thru HrC-096).

Buy it by the Brick (Rarity: BtB) -

Each HorrorClix set has a special Limited Edition figure produced to reward those fans who take part in WizKids' Buy it by the Brick promotion.

We have been unable to gather any actual production numbers on these figures but believe it to be in the range of 5,000, giving these figures an effective Rarity 5.5: 1.2 figures/case (5,000 total)

Convention Exclusives (Rarity: CE) -

Each year WizKids has a piece that is available only at the WizKids booth at conventions.  production numbers for these pieces are not released, but we know that there were 44 cases of Thor (the 2007 $100 CE) w/ 250 pieces per case.  Meaning they produced 11,000 of these figures.

Vlad The Impaler (2007 $75 CE) was also produced in 250 piece cases and there were at least 21 cases produced (likely at least 44) meaning minimum production run was a minimum of 5,250 Vlad's made.

Limited Editions (Rarity: LE) -

WizKids releases four Limited Edition figures as prizes for approved play.  We have been unable to find any type of production numbers for these figures, but they do not seem too difficult to get hold of, so I would imagine they are in the area of Rarity 2-3

Marvel Zombies (Rarity: MZ) -

1 Marvel Zombie was inserted in every 100 Supernova Boosters, meaning there were approximately 4000 total Marvel Zombies distributed.

Since there were four different zombies, there were approximately 1000 of each distributed, making them the rarest of all HorrorClix figures to date.

Wizard Limited Editions (Rarity: WLE) -

Rarity 5.5: 1.2 figures/case (5,000 total)

Wizard produces one limited edition figure for each HorrorClix set.
They produce 5,000 of this figure, making it essentially a Rarity 5.5: 1.2 figures/case.
