Nina Rosenwald, noted philanthropist, is the President and Founder of Gatestone Institute, a think tank and international policy council focusing on educating the public about what the mainstream media fails to report, and on promoting institutions of democracy.

An ardent Zionist all her life, she has been a leader in the charitable world.  Descended from philanthropists, she has supported Jewish and non-Jewish causes around the world.  Her grandfather, Julius Rosenwald, was President of Sears Roebuck & Company, and together with Booker T. Washington built schoolhouses for African American children throughout the South.  Her father, William Rosenwald, was one of the three founding members of the UJA.

Nina was an enthusiastic support of the late Senator Henry M. “Scoop” Jackson, served for many years as Vice Chair of the late Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan’s Campaign Finance Committee, and in 1996 as a Delegate from New York at the Democratic National Convention.

She is a supporter of countless organizations and on the Boards of American Friends of the Open University of Israel, Middle East Forum, CAMERA, the National Committee on American Foreign Policy, and the Institute for National Security Studies.  She is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and a former member of the National Board of AIPAC.

She is immensely proud of her involvement with the Open University of Israel and wishes it continued success.
