I’ve always liked Gunnar for a boy. I had a dream once that I had a two sons named Gunnar and Valdemar.

i remember really disliking it when they named their son Gunnar, and then the combination of Gunnar and Ammon – just sounds like Gun and Ammo to me.

Ammon is hebrew. It was the name of a city, and so a name of a group of people, the Ammonites. This is now Jordan, and the city is now Ammam. Dont no if thats why they picked it or not! It also sounds a lot like the Irish “Eamon,” to me so not that weird.

Gunner is a football club to me so Id never name my boy after the WRONG side of London! Lol! I agree it balances out “Flowers” though in terms of manlyness!!

I love Brandon Flowers and his music both solo and wuth the Killers. He said in a interview that they chose the name Gunnar because they wanted a strong name to go with the last name Flowers. It was actually on a list of worst celebrity baby names like shortly after he was born?? I remember reading it. Gunnar is actually coming more popular. I see a lot of people using that name more as a middle name than first. I don’t think Brandon and his wife were thinking about violence when they were naming their kids. They obviously liked the names and they had significance to them. I wish then all the best and I hope everyone is happy and healthy!

Hea, thanks for the english lesson, but I can read. I spelt it with an E because thats how its spelt when referring to The Gunners, which is a football club in London. Even though it is two different things that are spelt slightly differently, the prounouncation is exactly the same, which is why I said anyone in London will automatically think of that. That is in reference to someone saying it was Gunnar as in guns, I was saying thats not the only thing that springs to mind when I hear the name.

I also know Brandon is not from London, my comment was a joke, and just what the name meant where I was from.
