NAIROBI, June 24, 2013, Rift Valley Railways (RVR), the operator of the Kenya-Uganda Railways, has completed the building of 73 kilometres of new railways track between Mombasa and Nairobi costing Kshs 1.7 billion ($20 million) to improve reliability and speed delivery of cargo by rail from Mombasa.

RVR to Rehabilitate Nalukulongo Railway Workshop.
KAMPALA, 30th August 2012, RVR has awarded a contract worth US$410,000 to ROKO Construction Ltd to refurbish the main railway workshop at Nalukulongo. The works which are scheduled to start in September 2012 will take three months and aim to return the railway workshop to its original state, bring the work environment up to the required standards and to achieve certification to ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
