ARNIE GUNDERSEN, Nuclear Expert: The way to shut a [nuclear plant] down is to be a capitalist. The price of these things is so astronomical that Wall Street won’t buy them. If we can stop the federal subsidies we can stop the new nukes. The way to stop this process is to think like a capitalist.

HOW TO SHUT DOWN NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS??

How about just telling the TRUTH, the whole TRUTH, and nothing but the TRUTH about them?
Every consumer of "grid" electricity enables the continuation of this reckless endangerment!
Every dollar we spend enables it to continue.

  • Thanks Mr. Gundersen!

It is obvious and clear that the TRUE COST to ALL living things cannot be calculated or described in words.

These Death Machines are the result of arrogant fools and greed.

The risk was/is never WORTH it!

It only takes 1, "uh oh", to change the planet forever.

    We know this.

    • I would like to officially retract my previous comment to you Mr. Gunderson. Again… Thank You!

      by ChasAha at enenews:

"I wish Arnie could just say it like it is without having to 'play the game' of it could/should be safer crap. Seriously!

I wish, just once he would say something like, '…these Nuclear Death Machines should never have been built in the first place and you've all been lied to and now it's obvious you been screwed. They should all be Turned Off and decommissioned a soon as possible, in order to slow down the toxic contamination that is progressing faster than humans can think.'

Mr. Gundersen, you have my permission to use these words or ones like them at any time. Maybe you'll sleep better. I know I would."

      • I feel the same way. What happens if we stop all subsidies and Congress creates a "non-subsidy" method of assisting the nuclear power industry? I think it's a strategy which is bound to fail. For example, they could give tax exemptions or tax credits to the nuclear power industry and/or the investors. Is THAT considered a "subsidy?" How about if they provide free storage facilities for the nuclear waste? Is that a "subsidy?" How about free transportation or security services while in transit? Is that a "subsidy?"

No, we want the END of nuclear power and we need to elect people to Congress who will END it. Congress is the problem. Congress is the solution. We need to stop voting for "nuclear politicians."

"REJECT nuclear politicians!" That's what we should put on our signs when we march in front of the offices of Senators and Representatives who support nuclear power.

BTW: San Onofre Reactors are both shut down and now so is El Diablo's Reactors (due to spineless jellyfish clogging the water intakes) so CA is NOW Nuclear Reactor Energy Free…

All lights are working and none of the prices have not gone up at all!
