Science fiction stories are stories that emphasise speculations about a fairly consistent set of science technological based principles. For example Bladerunner would be considered a an example as it considers speculation about advanced technologies that are science based.

Science fiction can provide a speculative platform for the analysis of how humanity can consider the implications of full integration of modern technology taken to an extreme level. Sometimes it may also consider sudden removal of technology and it's implications too, for example the ideas of post apocalyptical scenarios in which only remnant technology has survived a massive natural or technological disaster.
