Police said they arrested five people on narcotics charges and shut down a purported drug house on Lincoln Street Sunday.
A search warrant led to the arrest of Jessica R. McFaun, 23, of 654 Morton St., Stoughton on charges of possession of Class A heroin, possession of a Class B drug, distributing heroin, and conspiracy to violate drug law.
Police arrested Matthew C. Cleary, 24, of 24 McEvoy Circle, Stoughton, Michael Leblanc, 20, of 57 Sofia Road, Stoughton, and Kyle A. Goodman, 21, of 44 Turnpike Street Drive, Easton for conspiracy to violate drug law. Goodman and Cleary were also charged with possession of Class A heroin.
Stoughton Detective Anthony Bickerton said the arrests stem from a two-month investigation into reports of drug activity at a house on Lincoln Street.
“We’ve targeted that house for the past couple of months. The important thing is we have put that house out of business for the short term,” Bickerton said.
Police executed a search warrant at 8:39 p.m. Sunday and seized about nine grams of heroin in the house and on the suspects.
The heroin has been sent to a lab for further testing, Bickerton said.
Acting Police Chief Thomas Murphy said police are serious about stemming the flow of heroin into Stoughton.
“We are trying to address this as quickly as we can,” Murphy said.
