"Dancing with the Stars": Leah Remini, Valerie Harper, Snooki among new cast

The new cast of "Dancing with the Stars" has been revealed, and, as had previously been reported, the latest crop of celebs to hit the ballroom includes Valerie Harper and Leah Remini. There's also a "Saved by the Bell" alumna, a former NFL player, a "Science Guy" and a "Glee" star.

The roster was revealed Wednesday morning on ABC's "Good Morning America." Here's who will be dancing:

-Elizabeth Berkley ("Saved by the Bell," "Showgirls") -- paired with Val Chmerkovskiy.

-Corbin Bleu ("High School Musical") -- paired with Karina Smirnoff.

-Brant Daugherty ("Pretty Little Liars") -- paired with Peta Murgatroyd.

-Bill Engvall (comedian) -- paired with Emma Slater.

-Valerie Harper ("The Mary Tyler Moore Show," "Rhoda") -- Tristan MacManus.

-Keyshawn Johnson (former NFL player) -- paired with Sharna Burgess.

-Christina Milian (singer/"The Voice" personality) -- paired with Mark Ballas.

-Bill Nye ("Bill Nye the Science Guy") -- paired with Tyne Stecklein.

-Jack Osbourne (son of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne) -- paired with Cheryl Burke.

-Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi ("Jersey Shore," "Snooki & JWoww") -- paired with Sasha Farber.

-Leah Remini ("The King of Queens") -- paired with Tony Dovolani.

-Amber Riley ("Glee") -- paired with Derek Hough.

Harper, 74, was diagnosed earlier this year with terminal brain cancer, but her doctor recently revealed the actress' cancer is "close to remission."

Remini also made headlines this summer when she parted ways with the Church of Scientology.

The stars and their pro partners will show off their moves when "Dancing with the Stars" returns on Sept. 16 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. The show will now air just one day each week, on Monday nights.

How will "DWTS" work without a results show? Each week, viewers will vote for their favorites. A couple will be eliminated at the end of each episode based on judges' scores for that night, combined with the public's votes from the previous week.

I don't like the idea that stars are being voted on for their previous performance and not for the performance of the night,...which the judges are voting on. I think after the performance you get the judges scores, then the voters have a week to vote then the elimination happens on the next episode at the beginning. Just get rid of all that results episode baloney. The dancers will have practiced for the new show, so let them dance their final routine even though they were eliminated. I think it would even be cool to post a live score through the week on the DWTS website to see what the voters are voting, but not show the last 48 hours of voting.
