The 2013-14 USA Today Coaches' preseason poll was released on Thursday, with five Big Ten teams ranked among the top 25, and three being placed in the top 10.

Michigan State is ranked No. 2 in the preseason poll, followed by No. 9 Michigan and No. 10 Ohio State. Wisconsin checked in at No. 21 while defending Big Ten Champion Indiana is ranked No. 24.

Michigan State, which returns four starters from a 2012-13 team that reached the NCAA Tournament "Sweet 16," will open the season on Nov. 8 against McNeese State. Highlighting the returnees for the Spartans include guards Keith Appling and Gary Harris and forward Adreian Payne, who all collected second-team All-Big Ten honors last season.

Michigan finished the 2012-13 campaign as the national runner-up after falling short against Louisville in the NCAA Championship game. Among the Wolverines' three returning starters include sophomores Mitch McGary and Glenn Robinson III. McGary averaged a double-double during the NCAA Tournament, while Robinson III collected Big Ten All-Freshman Team honors last season. Michigan will tip off its season against visiting UMass-Lowell on Nov. 8.

Ohio State reached the NCAA Tournament Regional Finals last season after capturing the Big Ten Tournament Championship. The Buckeyes will return four starters, including senior point guard Aaron Craft, who picked up first-team All-Big Ten honors from the media voters last season. Shannon Scott, a member of the 2013 Big Ten All-Defensive Team, also returns after seeing action in all 37 games during his sophomore season. The Buckeyes will host Morgan State in their season opener on Nov. 9.

Wisconsin made a run to the Big Ten Tournament Championship game last March and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the 15th consecutive year. The Badgers are set to return two starters, including All-Big Ten Honorable Mention selection Ben Brust. Sam Dekker, a Big Ten All-Freshman Team honoree last season, also returns after averaging 9.5 points per game. The Badgers will open the 2013-14 season on Nov. 8 against St. John's at The Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Indiana, which won its first outright Big Ten title since 1993 last season, also garnered a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament on the way to an appearance in the "Sweet 16." This season, the Hoosiers will return Will Sheehey, the reigning Big Ten Sixth Man of the Year, along with All-Freshman Team selection Yogi Ferrell. Indiana will entertain Chicago State in its season opener on Nov. 8.

Also receiving votes in the USA Today Coaches' preseason poll were Iowa (86) and Illinois (2).
