The X Factor Australia Live Show - Dami Im Steals The Shows Once Again With A Disco Track!

08 September 2013

It is already week three of the live shows on The X Factor Australia – with the top ten taking on hits that made it into the top 10 on the charts.

The show opens with the judge created group Third D3gree performing Jessie J’s Wild – with the group taking to the number with their usual energy and enthusiasm.

Dannii said that she loved the “electricity” between the three of them, while RedFoo told them they keep getting “better and better” and that they are his favourite group on the music scene at the moment! Ronan warned them to watch their harmonies.

Then it was on to boy wonder Jai Waetford to take on Michael Jackson’s The Way You Make Me Feel – complete with cheesy dance break!

Nat Bass made a reference to Young Talent Time that went completely over Jai’s head, adding that she felt he was doing too many dated tracks. Dannii added that she felt that his performances weren’t living up to his fevered fan base (ouch!) while RedFoo defended him by saying that he was a true professional.

Then came the first bizarre song choice for the night (and hopefully the last!) – with Dannii asking Barry Southgate to take on Katy Perry’s California Girls, complete with a rap!

His performance divided the judges once again with RedFoo calling it his best performance yet – while Nat Bass and Ronan chastised him for his pitchy singing.

Ellie Lovegrove soared through her rendition of Nelly Furtado’s I’m Like A Bird – finally in her element after struggling with nerves early on in the competition.

All the judges agreed that her performance was her most natural yet – with Nat Bass adding that this is the kind of artist she is meant to be.

Then it was time for judge RedFoo to rock the stage with his new single Let’s Get Ridiculous – with the track everything you would expect from the party loving performer!

Energetic, upbeat and just that little bit ridiculous – Let’s Get Ridiculous is sure to be as loved as his tracks with LMFAO.

With a perfect song choice Omar Dean wowed the judges with his impeccable falsetto once again with his rendition of Justin Timberlake’s Cry Me A River. Nat Bass summed up the thoughts of all the judges when she said that it was a joy watching Omar grow in the competition and his belief in himself.

After a lack lustre few weeks in the competition JTR returned to the stage with something to prove tonight with their take on Neon Trees Everybody Talks.

All the judges welcomed the boys back to the competition with an overjoyed Ronan exclaiming “finally!”

After facing the bottom two last week Joelle also had something to prove this week with her rendition of Bruno Mars’ Locked Out Of Heaven.

While the judges all agreed that vocally her performance was great, she is still holding something back that means she isn’t connecting in the way she should be.

Another contestant with something to prove is Taylor Henderson, who this week is taking on Mumford & Son’s I Will Wait.

It is the perfect song choice for him, with all four judges agreeing that when he believes in himself and his song choice, he is a force to be reckoned with.

Following on from Taylor is Dami Im, with Dannii changing this up this week with a disco hit from Thelma Houston.

As with every week Dami absolutely kills it – leaving Ronan to ask if she could please get her own show so that the other competitors have a chance!

The night ends with the ethereal Jiordan Tolli who is given the massive task of performing U2’s With Or Without You.

Dannii calls her “one of the stars of the show” while the rest of the judges commend her on her professionalism after one of her stage props fails to work.
