 旅游管理学院简介

       北京第二外国语学院旅游管理学院源于1979年成立的旅游干训班;1981年成立旅游系,时设导游翻译和旅游经济专业;1992年学校设立饭店管理系和旅游外经系;1997年成立旅游经贸学院;1999年成立旅游管理学院。旅游管理学院以服务,合作,创新为院训,以三地建设(即世界旅游管理教研重地、中国会展管理教研高地、首都服务管理教研要地)为目标,注意国际化和产学研一体化,积极探索全球产业领袖”的人才培养模式。
      旅游管理学院拥有工商管理一级学科硕士点(现有旅游管理、企业管理和会计学三个二级学科硕士学位点),MTAMBA两个专业学位硕士点,旅游管理、市场营销、财务管理、会展经济与管理、酒店管理五个本科专业。旅游管理专业为国家级特色专业,通过世界旅游组织教育质量认证。旅游管理学科和企业管理学科为北京市重点建设学科。目前旅游管理学院在读研究生、本科生、留学生共1500余人,其中旅游管理专业研究生和留学生规模均居全国首位。
      旅游管理学院师资力量雄厚,现有教授10人、副教授17人、讲师11人,具有博士学位32人,5人在读博士学位。其中北京市优秀教师1人,北京市级教学名师2人。同时聘请了40多位国内外旅游业资深人士作为客座教授。现有国家级特色专业1个,国家级精品课程1门,国家十一五规划教材5部,市级品牌专业1个,市级特色专业1个,市级重点学科2个,北京市级创新团队2个,市级教学团队1个,市级精品课程1门,市级精品教材2部。
      旅游管理学院按照“专业+外语”的培养模式,在注重学生专业知识学习的同时,在社会实践中培养学生的服务、合作、创新精神和能力。凭着扎实的专业知识和良好的外语水平,旅游管理学院毕业生历年来受到旅游行政部门、外事单位、机关部委、进出口公司、教育科研机构、大型企业集团及民营企业等用人单位的青睐。

An Introduction to School of Tourism Management (STM)
  
  School of Tourism Management (STM) was transformed from Tourism Cadre Class founded in 1979; Department of Tourism Management established in 1981 to offer majors in tourism interpretation and tourism economics; Department of Hotel Management and Department of Tourism Economics & Foreign Trade was set up in 1992; Department of Tourism and Economics founded in 1997; School of Tourism Management established in 1999. Taking “service, cooperation and innovation” as its school motto, aiming at “Three-Base Construction” (teaching and research bases of international tourism, Chinese MICE Industry, and service industry development in Beijing) and highlighting internationalization and integration of industry, academia and research communities. STM has been engaged in exploration of the nurturing models of tourism “Global Industry Leadership”.
 
  STM offers graduate programs for Tourism Management and Business Administration, MTA, MBA, as well as four undergraduate programs, namely, Tourism Management (Tourism Management option and Hotel Management option), Exhibition Economy & Management, Marketing and Finance. Tourism Management is a featured specialty discipline at national level, while the courses of Tourism Management and Business Administration are key disciplines at Beijing municipal level. Currently, STM is a home to 1500 students, including graduate students, undergraduate students and overseas students, boasting the largest scale of Tourism Management majors of graduate students and overseas students in China.
 
  On the strength of its faculty and staff, STM has 10 professors, 17 associate professors, 11lecturers (all with Ph.D. degrees). Among them, one is awarded as “Excellent teacher” by Beijing municipal government and two are given titles of “teaching master” by the Beijing municipal government. Meanwhile, STM has invited in over 40 industrial experts in the field of tourism as visiting professors.
 
  Well equipped with advanced teaching equipment, STM provides multimedia classrooms, audio labs, computer rooms, and three modern laboratories with joint sponsorship of Central Government, local government and the industry, namely, Hotel Information System Lab, 3D Tourism Planning & Landscape Lab and Exhibition Information Lab. With rich reserve of books and audio information, STM’s library has collected over 25,600 books and 211 editorials of both Chinese and foreign versions, providing students with excellent conditions and environment.
 
  Following its school motto of “service, cooperation and innovation”, STM has as always aimed to train talents in adaptation to real industry needs and actively create the nurturing mode featured by integration of the three. As a reflection, STM takes the lead in China in research areas, including tourism development, tourism business management, hotel management, hospitality management, tourism economics, tourism marketing, tourism regional planning, exhibition economy and management, service operation. Many of its research results have generated impressive social and economic values.
