Skills Competition Details and Filming Schedule for Qualifier Events

NASTY Sports and Entertainment released details surrounding its innovative softball skills comptitoin as well as the filming schedule for its qualifiying events.

The skills competition is an event unique to tournaments on the N.A.S.T.Y. Championship series. Basically, the skills competitin provides contestants with the oppportunity to try out as individuals for a spot on one of the 4 "Select" Teams that will vie for the title of N.A.S.T.Y. Champion on a reality tv series. The select teams will be the center of attention on all episodes of the television show.

Contestants in the skills competition will cut a one minute promo telling N.A.S.T.Y. producers why they should be on one of the teams that will be under the microscope at the first annual N.A.S.T.Y. Championships. Players will be expected to demonstrate their skills at the plate and in the filed in an ongoing game of scrub. Almost as important as a players on-field performance will be their on-camera persona. Players will be encouraged to bring their own entrance music and cheering sections.

It's a great opportunity for players that couldn't get into the tournament to take a crack at being one of the stars of the championships. Pitchers will be interested in knowing that we have applied to the Guniess Book of Records to establish the mark for consectuve slow-pitch softball strikes. We are confident of the records acceptence based on the cireteria for selection. The fact that strikes in slow-pitch either hit the mat or they do not combined with the taped nature of the skills competition should make for a successful bid.

NASTY Sports and Entertainment understands that potential exposure for sponsors is important not only for partners of NASTY SE but also for teams that have companies that sponsor them for big tournaments like the NASTY Championship Qualifiers. To provide a general idea of what portions of the tournaments will be filmed for use on the first two episodes of the reality show, NASTY SE has released the following filming schedule:

  • Round Robin cameras will capture action at all diamonds during the round robin portion of the tournaments. Film crews will rotate through the diamonds spending 15 minutes at each diamond.
  • Skills Competition two cameras will be constantly rolling at the skills competition diamonds. One to capture the one minute identification promos, the other capturing the action on the field.
  • Playoff Round 16 teams will qualify for the "A" division, and most can expect at least spot exposure on one of the introductory episodes. Two of the three diamonds used for the "A" division playoff will be under constant fliming, and will feature the use of video instant replay when necessary.
