Hate Crime MurderCobb County man slaughtered in random hate crime mob attack

Update: Atlanta Journal-Constitution runs insulting article downplaying the attack.

On July 1st a group of black gang members brutally attacked and beat a random white pedestrian in Cobb County, Georgia. He was then knocked onto the road where he was hit by oncoming traffic.

This story received minor coverage in the local news. If the races had been reversed this would be the biggest news story in the United States. It would have knocked the Zimmerman trial out of the news.

From Marietta Daily Journal…

Four south Cobb teenagers are in custody in connection with the beating death of a 36-year-old Mableton man on Mableton Parkway early Sunday morning.

The incident initially was reported by police as a hit-and-run death over the weekend, but the narrative changed drastically Tuesday after the arrests of four teenagers on murder charges.

Jekari Oshay Strozier, 19; Antonio Shantwan Pass, 18; and Johnathan Donald Anthony, 18; all from Mableton, are in the Cobb County jail without bonds on charges of felony murder, aggravated assault and violation of the Georgia Street Gang Act.

The fourth suspect, 18-year-old Kemonta Bonds of Mableton, turned himself in to police Tuesday afternoon.

They have been accused in the beating death of Joshua Heath Chellew, 36, of Mableton and all but Bonds were arrested Monday afternoon by Cobb County investigators.

According to the warrant, the four teenagers are accused of starting a fight with Chellew at a Chevron gas station in the 6200 block of Mableton Parkway near Community Drive at about 1:20 a.m. Sunday. They repeatedly punched and kicked him, according to police.

While attempting to escape, Chellew backed into the center five-lane highway and was pushed to the ground and knocked unconscious, the warrant states.

They then walked away from Chellew, “leaving him helpless,” and he was eventually hit by a car, the warrant states.

They travel in packs because they are afraid that you may best them if they don’t have back up, which is true sometimes, In high school this white kid broke up with his girlfriend, and she started dating this black guy, the black guy had beef with the white guy, and they decided to meet off school grounds to fight, well, the black guy brought his brother and two other black kids, and guess what? The white guy brought his cousin and two of his friend’s, and they whooped the shit out of the blacks. Shit like that happens alot, but it doesn’t always end up in the white guy’s favor, there is a mob mentality in the black community, they will kill and beat each other, but then they act like they love each other just long enough to fight the white man. I have met a few really nice black people that are the exception to this rule and its sad that the good guys can’t speak for all the blacks. Whites back down too easy, they really do, grow a spine, please.

    I watched the video report of this attack, it appears that the white guy’s girlfriend is black, and his friend who spoke up for him is also black. The video made it sound as if he lived in a black neighborhood. So, it looks as if he’s part of “rainbow” generation, thinking that it’s cool to date black girls. It didn’t turn out well for him.

    The other story I heard said he went up to them talking about ‘representin’ and that the guys who attacked him were ‘bloods’ and he was wearing blue… either it was a hate crime or gang violence. I am only hearing it called a hate crime that was racially motivated, even by the people who comment on the gang stuff. Cobb county has a lot of gang bangers that are Caucasian, so I am leery at putting it at as high a level as this article suggests.

    Its not ok, but it makes it gang violence, not racial motivated… not everything is about race and I say that on both sides of the arguement… people, black and white, have killed because of the color of skin, and whites have been accused of being racist ‘just because’… gang violence in cobb county is commited by black, white, yellow and brown gangbangers and thugs or at least it was when I lived there. There was a white 17 year old boy who identified himself as a blood and nearly killed someone he was trying to mug because they represented another gang… that gets ignored by the media too..every thing gang related gets ignored, except lately when its black kids killing white people and then it is about race, not that they are wanna be thug punks.

But to say he deserved it because he was dating a black girl and had black friends is disgusting. With everything that’s taking place in the United States, people are stuck on color. What religion teaches you to dislike others because of the color of their skin? Race isn’t the problem with people, IGNORANCE is. I pray that justice is served for this man. No one regardless of who or what they are deserves this type of treatment.

But, he did go down to FL, got himself involved in the Zimmerman case & made the statement “If I had a son, he would’ve looked like Trayvon.” Now whenever things like this happens you’re going to have some people take that statement, & throw it right back at him. I don’t see Obama doing this while because of the whole politics game, but one would hope that when his term is over, Obama will follow the footsteps of Bill Cosby, Herman Cain, & Steve Harvey & go out to be a role model to the young black community & give the message of going out, get an education & work hard to be somebody.

    this is such a sad story. I believe anyone who decides to take another persons life needs to pay. No matter the outcome here on earth they will answer to God on judgement day.       Bogus accusations? The second that Zimmerman pulled the trigger, he was labeled a racist because Trayvon was black, and that was a one on one scenario. Here, we have 4 black youth who murdered a white male. One even went so far as to turn himself in, and presumably, gave a sworn statement as to what happened that night. If we, as a society, can deem Zimmerman a racist right off the bat, why are we not allowed to do the same here? Why is this not being labeled a hate crime? To be technical, all crime is a form of hate. I HATE that you have a big bank account and nice things, so I will rob you. I HATE that you have a nice car, so I will carjack you. The list goes on and on. But only if the color of skin comes into play do we cry out. And that is only done when the one committing the crime is white and the victim is black. Want this country to change? Charge these four black youths with a hate crime, going on nothing more than skin color, as happens to white people, and see how fast people start behaving. MLK, who in my opinion was a great man, strived for equality, so let’s help his family see the fruits of his labor.

    Let’s be fair here. Unlike the Zimmerman case, these brutes were arrested right away or turned themselves in. It didn’t take a public outcry for an arrest to be made. The outrage here is that the mainstream media hasn’t given this murder more coverage.

    I think its exceptionally sad that the true issue here is that Joshua Heath is gone, the horrific truth is that his death has come to life and that his family will never see him again b/c of 4 punk kids that are not only hateful but evil, to have to beat a man who stands alone with no one to defend him,, COWARDLY! Not to mention that b/c these 4 live the lifestyle they live they have probably beat a man down of their OWN race, wh/ not makes it any worse but still SAD!!! Lets remember that REAGARDLESS of the skin color a mans life ceases to exist and the color of his skin is irrelevant to his life being gone! I pray that the justice system prevails here and the 4 are given their rightly deserved punishment. The truth is all of us in this day and age were horrified by black slavery in this country, we struggle to come to grips with how and why. I’m proud to have a great-great grandfather who enlisted as a young soldier at 21, who found slavery so reprehensible as a young German national that he risked his life to fight against it at Antietam and other horrible Civil War battles. I wish these people would wake up and realize that those days are long gone and it’s time to rise above the victim mentality.

First of all if you knew ANYTHING about slavery, you would realize that blacks were enslaving blacks LONG BEFORE the white man ever sailed in. What part of Florida, the year it took place or one of the person;s names, any of these would help.       Alex Jefferson-I feel ya there. I guess I am Conservative in that I believe in smaller government, less spending, and more respect for the Constitution. Yet I am pro-choice and pro-LGBT marriage. So both Liberals and Conservatives hate me…LOL

      And this yet another case where the media does not bother covering the story because it is black on white crime. As to the gentleman who pointed out the possible gang connection; perhaps. But we can always bring up relatively recent cases like the murder of 1 y/o Antonio Santiago who was shot point blank in the face by a black. Or the case of Molly Conley, a white 15 y/o honor student gunned by a 26 y/o black man who just wanted to shoot “whites”. There is a serious cover-up by the Media and the Government to protect Blacks at all costs. Why this is I will never know. But if you believe in statistics, blacks kill/commit crimes against whites at a far, far higher rate than whites do against blacks. Yet in cases such as a Mr. Zimmerman, everyone pretty much wants us to believe that only whites commit hate crimes. It just isn’t true.

    Zimmerman didn’t claim “stand your ground” and there is no evidence he was “stalking” anybody. Zimmerman asked an unknown person on private property what he was doing there, was attacked as a result, thrown to the ground, beaten, couldn’t retreat, and then defended himself.

    What should happen went the way of the dinosaur long ago. The left is at war with anyone who claims to be conservative or a Republican. There is no middle ground–they intend to wipe conservatism from the face of the earth and part of that is the emotional manipulation of the masses in order to create what they think is political advantage. The problem is, and what they’re too stupid to realize, is that emotion is a double-edged sword. It’s going to be far easier for conservatives to wrap themselves in the flag and turn the country against the traitors/seditionists/communists of the Democratic Party than for them to continue what even their own side realizes is little but a ruse of self-righteousness with no foundation in reality. We just haven’t sunk that low yet. But when the time comes, I think Democrats will regret the fact they’ve made emotion the determinant of what’s right and wrong in this country.
