Gourmet Gaming’s rather personal GOTY list about games from 2012…
Best food:
Guild Wars 2
One of my favourite Gourmet Gaming posts of the year was the Guild Wars 2 Chocolate Omnomberry Cake!
-
Worst food:
Dishonored
If there’s one place I wouldn’t want to live it would be the city of Dunwall. Jellied Eels and Brined Hagfish are just a few of the ‘delicacies' on offer.
-
Best game to play while eating:
Halo 4
There are plenty of cutscenes which provide the perfect opportunity for face-stuffing. Play co-op to double these snack chances.
-
Most unexpected food in a game:
Legend of Grimrock – Blueberry Pie
Lost somewhere in the endless labyrinth of stone tunnels there is a blueberry pie. How, why… what? At least it’s not a Baked Maggot.
-
Character most likely to get diabetes:
Juliet Starling (Lollipop Chainsaw)
Sure, she’s fit now, but Juliet’s diet of lollipops and junk food wont be doing her any favours for the future.
-
Best food and game partnership:
Hitman: Absolution and Rustlers
Came with a buy-one-get-one-free voucher for Rustlers’ microwave burgers in the UK; Zero to tasty in Agent 47 seconds. Apparently.
-
Game that should have had food:
Borderlands 2
I love the Borderlands universe and the seemingly endless loot. But Gearbox, Y U NO randomly generate noms?!
-
Most brutal rationing in a game:
The Walking Dead
There were few things emotionally harder this year than playing The Walking Dead and deciding who got what to eat.
-
Most anticipated foods for 2013:
Grand Theft Auto V
GTA has always delivered on bizarrely awesome foods and in-game franchises. I’m hoping GTA:V is no exception.
-
Ni No Kuni
The cutest ice-cream sundaes and curries have been spied…
