My two cents on the war drums in #Syria

First of all as a disclaimer , I am not a political analyst and this is my blog aka my space where I think and rant loudly as I want. Second I support Syrian revolution since day one since it started as small protests in Daraa. Third I do not support any of the fighting groups now in the war torn misfortunate country whether Al Assad regime or FSA or Al Qaeda.

All what I care for the Syrians now are their rights in dignified life , democracy and justice based on human rights and diversity that suite one of the greatest and most ethnic and religious diversified nations in the Arab world.

Here is what I think :

  • Based on all the official statements and unofficial leaks from United States, UK, France and Israel it seem that there will be some sort of a military action in the upcoming 48 hours or 72 hours.
  • It will not be a direct intervention like in Iraq or Afghanistan at least for the United States as the majority of the public opinion is against military intervention in Syria. Most possibly air strikes in Al Assad strongholds in the country to cripple him.
  • I believe both Salim Idris and Manaf Tlass “especially the later as he is KSA’s favorite option” will play some roles in the upcoming days. Latest thing I read in Arabic news websites recently that Tlass would lead a rebel army that gets rid from both Al Assad and Al Qaeda”
  • I believe also there are 24 hours leaders’ telephone calls now in the neighbor countries of Syria :Turkey , Iraq , Lebanon , Jordan and of course Israel.
  • I fear sorry for Lebanon because it will be dragged to hell either ways. Hezbollah can attack Israel and Israel made it clear today that it will not stand still against any attack. Israel is also concerned about that Jihadists heaven next to its door step !! For God sake AIPAC supported what happened in Egypt just to get rid from the Muslim brotherhood and Jihadists in Sinai.
  • Iraq , Iran’s ally and thus Al Assad’s ally said earlier today that it will not allow anyone to use its skies.
  • Turkey got two things to care about in this crisis : The Kurds and the Jihadists who are using the country as a gate.
  • Jordan is in Saudi Arabia team.
  • I do not see Qatar playing a strong role now as it seems that the fall of the Muslim brotherhood in Cairo with the help of its rival Saudi Arabia turned things around. KSA’s princes are playing a bigger role in the current crisis more than Qatar as it seems.
  • Yes it was not a US Vs. Russia or US Vs. Iran thing only but it was also Saudi Arabia Vs. Qatar and it seems that the elder Kingdom won that round thanks to the fall of the Muslim brotherhood in Egypt
  • By the way many people were shocked by Russia’s stance on how it will not go to war for Al Assad. Well dear friends Russia will not start a world war for Al Assad , it did not do for Serbia for God sake.
  • Egypt’s stance is officially clear : It supports Syrian revolution as well Jihadists there and against chemical weapons too as well against military intervention in Syria.
  • Egypt’s stance is clearly opposite to Saudi Arabia’s stance. It is one of the enigmas in the Middle East.
  • Egypt supports political solution in Syria. “yes it is an irony that the Egyptian government now does not support political solution in Egypt itself !!”
  • Egypt also calls for another round of Geneva talks. Sadly I remember ElBaradei declared that he was preparing for this meeting. Now I see that there is a war council held in Jordan and Egypt was not even there. “At it was not announced officially”
  • Egypt or rather Egypt’s army is now busy with the internal issues woes.
  • Now I wonder what the FSA ,especially its Conservative groups think or do regarding the military intervention from the US and UK. Of course the important is what Al Qaeda’s Islamic State Iraq and Syria will do in front of this Western military intervention.

God bless Syria and Syrians.

#RIP Princess #Fawzia , The Beautiful Sad Rose of the #Nile

As she lived in complete silence , she departed our world in even more silence that does not suit a figure like her. After all she was not only the surviving sister of late King Farouk but she was also the ex-wife of Shah of Iran Reda Pahlavi.
Princess Fawzia Fouad passed away last July 2,2013 in complete silence in Alexandria. Her very small funeral that did not suit her was held last July 3, 2013 from El Saida Nafisa mosque in old Cairo. She was not buried in the royal cemetery besides her brother late King Farok in Rafai , she was buried in her husband's family "The Shereens" cemetery in Cairo.
Only very few relatives attended the funeral. Of course the media was not that interested in covering the funeral but I found couple of clips from the funeral.

The media was not that interested because it is not a secret that we are having political unrest in the country.
I do not know what to say about that beautiful princess honestly as I have always admired her as a person and as a royalty figure.

It started as A revolution then It became like this in #Syria

It started as a revolution in Syria then it became as you can see in this cartoon unfortunately.

Over the weekend the Syrian Observatory for human rights issued a new death toll estimating that more than 80,000 Syrians have been killed , half of them are civilians.

#Ahmadinejad in Al Azhar Mosque

Aside from his meeting with President Morsi , the visit of Iranian President Ahmadinejad to Al Azhar Mosque in Egypt is capturing all the attention in his important visit.
After all the leader of the main Shiite State nation in the world is visit Al Azhar Mosque , the biggest Sunni institution in the world. Again in any other time it can be great moment to celebrate it and even start a new page to bridge between the two main sects of Islam but it comes in extremely bad time.
Nevertheless the real star of the visit was not Ahmadinejad but rather Ahmed El Tayyib , the grand Sheikh of Al Azhar Mosque. The Upper Egyptian Sheikh began to play a bigger political role week after week !!
Today he hoped that Iran works to stop the war in Syria , to give rights to the Sunnis and Ahwaz in Iran and not to spread the Shiism in the Arab world plus to respect Bahrain and Gulf’s sovereignty and to make the Shiites stop their verbal attack against Prophet Mohamed’s companions.
Of course there is no word on the rights of Shiites in Egypt !!
Last week the man sponsored an initiative proposed by Pro-revolutionary youth to stop violence in Egypt attended by all political powers and parties and church representatives that boycott the president Morsi’s national dialogue.
Anyhow some Egyptians are pissed from Ahmadinejad and the victory signs he kept doing in Al Azhar for some reason I ignore !!
El Tayyib does not like it either !!
By the way for the record Ahmadinejad is not the first ruler of Iran to visit Al Azhar mosque and meets it sheikh. Shah Iran did it before when he was a crown prince during his engagement to Princess Fawzia , that later became his wife.

Historical moment in wrong time !!!

And President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has become the first Iranian President to visit Cairo since the revolution in Iran from more than 30 years.
Here is the reception of the Iranian President in Cairo airport.

It is a historical moment but not the perfect one. It is not the correct image in my mind for this important meeting between the heads of those two important countries in the Middle East not to mention these are not the correct image for the "heads" of these states !!

The problem is that you lie too much

Times Newspaper published a very alarming report about the visit of Iranian Spy Chief Qassem Suleimani to Cairo two days before Christmas.
The newspaper claimed that the Iranian spy chief  held talks with Egyptian officials mainly from MB leading figures who were interested in founding another Intelligence Service and security guards following the brotherhood instead of Egypt's intelligence controlled by the army.
As I am not Times subscriber , I can not read the original text but this is based upon the translation of BBC Arabic.
Knowing how such report will bring trouble to the Muslim brotherhood whether inside or outside "the Western allies" , the Muslim brotherhood issued an immediate statement denying these claims. "The Muslim brotherhood did not ask for secret support from Iran" the Statement said after the Times' report was spread all over the Egyptian news websites.
Mahmoud Ghozlan ,the official spokesperson of Muslim brotherhood described this report as fictional one.
I want to believe the Muslim brotherhood but unfortunately after their constant lies , I do not believe them easily anymore.
It is worth to mention that Iranian FM will visit Egypt soon and the brothers and supporters believe now it is a good move "against UAE" after they were cheering for Morsi's sectarian triumph over the Shiites in Iran.
Now if this report is true , I believe the Muslim brotherhood will be playing with fire for real because they will get in to a confrontation with 60 years army and intelligence service in time their popularity is not that great in the country now.

Regarding Morsi and the conquest of Tehran 2012 !!

Morsi and Ahamedinajed
The speech of Mohamed Morsi in the NAM summit meeting in Tehran yesterday is still echoing and causing controversy among Egyptians and the Arabs. Most people in Egypt find it reasonable balanced as well announcement that Egypt is back in leading the  region once again. “Despite it is still speech, there are no real actions yet to make Egypt return back to its position ”
Nevertheless the brothers in the Gulf as well the brothers in the Muslim brotherhood and Salafist movement in Egypt and Arab worldwide have turned the 42 minutes speech in to the greatest victory over the Persian Empire since 1400 years and beyond !!
Unfortunately the overreaction of the Islamists in Egypt after the speech whether online and offline stunned many revolutionary Egyptians with its sectarian nature including me. The MB and Al Nour Party ordered their members to receive Morsi in the airport and then head to his house in order to salute him. Now Morsi is being hailed as the New Saladin of modern time because the radical sectarian Islamists believe that he slammed the Shiite in their own land thanks to the few words he said in his speech.
In the beginning of his speech Morsi saluted the four caliphs by name
Peace upon Prophet Mohamed “PBUH”’s companions our lords Abu Bakr, Omar , Othman and Ali

Who wrote the NAM Speech ??

Some think it was sectarian , some think it was the best, few like think it was balanced and well written to the level I wonder who wrote it !?? I am speaking about Mohamed Morsi’s speech in Tehran at the Non Alignment movement summit.
Here is the speech in Arabic.

The important points in the long speech that continued for 42 minutes
  • El Assad regime should leave. “The Syrian delegation left and later slammed the speech as an intervention in Syria’s issue”
  • The right to have a Palestinian state recognized internationally and the rights of Palestinian refugees.
  • Keeping the Middle East free zone of nuclear mass destruction weapons.
  • He spoke about Nasser ,he could not ignore him.
It is a good thing that Morsi went to say in Iran that El Assad regime should leave , it is better than boycotting the summit.
Now there is an euphoria among Arabs and Egyptians mainly from Islamists and Salafists because he saluted all the Righteous Caliphs name by name in Tehran. Radical Shiites do not recognized Abu Bakr , Omar and Othman as righteous caliphs. It is being hailed as the most important speech ever told in the Modern age in NAM , in Islamic world in the universe !!!!!
May be I am not sectarian but I believe that it was good gesture to unite Muslims in the speech of Morsi by mentioned Abu Bakr, Omar , Othman and Ali peace upon them all.
Now we got the Muslim brotherhood and activists like world famous Asmaa Mahfouz calling for a public hero reception for Morsi after historical great speech in Iran !!!
This is how Egyptians excelled in making false idols from their rulers !!!!!

The Muslim brotherhood and Al Nour Salafist Party have mobilized their members already to receive Morsi at the airport and also to receive at Fatmah  El Shorbagy mosque in New Cairo where he prays
Ok now it is getting out of control , a Kuwaiti Poet called Hamd Ibn Abdullah dedicates a Poem to Morsi praising him as a President who conquers all villains and kicks the asses of Zoroastrians "Shiite" , Zionists , crosses "Christians". By the way that Kuwaiti Poet is actually from Salafi Jihadist Sheikh.

Morsi speaks to International media for the first time

And Reuters pitches the first international interview with President Mohamed Morsi of Egypt.
Here are Part 1 and Part 2 of his interview , I think they recorded video with Morsi.
Morsi in Reuters interview
Now the important points in this interview :
  • No devaluation of the Egyptian pound
  • No more taxes
  • The government will focus on investments and tourism.
  • Morsi urges El Assad’s regime to step down.
  • Morsi urges El Assad’s allies “China and Russia” to force him to step down.
  • The Egyptian suggestion considering Syrian includes talks with Saudi Arabia, Iran and Turkey.
  • The Peace treaty with Israel is safe and Israel should not be worried from the military campaign in Sinai.
  • The visit to Iran is a new start for the troubled relations , still Egypt is working on having balanced relations with everybody.
  • The visit to China and the States is to attract investments.
By the way I think Morsi should speak to Egyptian too.
Here is part of the interview in video in Arabic with no English subtitles.

Regarding Chinese warships heading to #Syria through #Suez canal

Just from several hours ago a small unconfirmed news spread like fire online claiming that Egypt allowed 3 Chinese warships and frigates to pass from Suez canal heading Syria as quick Chinese aid to El Assad carrying big cargo of arms.
The only two news sources in Egypt speaking about the matter are : Al Shorouk newspaper “Ar” and Ahram Gate “Ar” that mentioned the names of Chinese warships according to a security official source in Suez Canal authority. Of course in Egypt now you can not trust any source what so ever.
This news created an uproar and anger among Syrians and Egyptians alike. Syrians are angry on how Egypt is betraying them and Egyptians are angry from Morsi on how he betrayed them and let the warships pass cursing him and SCAF as well MB alike. The MB divided on two section : One section justifying the decision saying that Morsi can not break international treaties “Despite during the Iraq invasion , MB said Mubarak should break the treaties” and the other section was angry from Morsi cursing him.
The climax of the MB anger when the Freedom and Justice Party and Muslim brotherhood issued a statement against the decision saying Suez canal and Egyptian economy to hell if it were on the expense of our Syrian brothers. “Nasser would be happy to see that the MB is keeping his legacy of using big words alive”
Now despite I am in vacation trying to keep myself away from politics , I could not keep myself from searching for the truth. I could not find any single international source speaking about Chinese warships heading to Syria . I know that China could not move single warship that far to the Mediterranean without catching the attention. The only thing I found about Chinese navy suspicious movements in South China disputed area with the Philippines. “ More from AFP

The #MideastUFO that turned to be something else

At the same time Egyptians are following the on going political circus in Egypt , millions of people across the Levant reported seeing strange object in the sky tonight.
From several hours ago I began to see tweets coming from Syria speaking about strange objects in the sky. Panic reached to the level of suspecting the use of chemical warfare against Syrian rebellious towns and cities like in Hama , Idlib , Homs , Daraa, Aleppo and Reef Dimshaq. It was disturbing for sure and was strange to imagine that the Syrian regime would escalate its war against the revolutionaries in these towns at the same time across the Atlantic the UN is discussing the horrible massacre that took place in Homs from two days ago.
Here is a video shot in Deir Ez Zor tonight showing that strange flying object.
Deir Ez Zor : Strange object spotted in the sky
Here is also a photo showing the light spotted n the sky in Daraa from @DaraaNow

Then I found reports about similar sighting for unknown objects in Lebanon and Israel as well other countries in Levant. Some thought it was meteorite while other considered it the #MideastUFO , oh yes UFO.
Here is another photo I found online which will be hot meal for UFO believers

#Syrian Revolution : Regarding Israel

" Israel’s neighbor is burning” is an Op-ed published in Haartez by Gideon Levy about what Israel can do to help its neighbor Syria and Syrian people. Levy knows very well that Israel can’t intervene directly because any action will unite the Syrian people against it “As if uniting the people of Syria was a bad thing , I stood in front of this phrase a lot t be honest”. This op-ed is very interesting on many levels because it made me think about the Israeli position in the Syrian crisis.

There is no doubt that Israel is worried about the future of its neighbor in the North , the Israelis do not want El Assad and his Pro-Iranian Hezbollah regime but they also do not want a radical Islamist rule or radical nationalist rule to replace El Baath rule especially with the rise of the Islamist powers in the region.

The Israeli military generals want to neutralize if not to weaken the Syrian Arab army , they will welcome something like the new Syrian army indeed with no rockets arsenal or air forces “like what happened in Libya”. You must know according to military experts El Assad has not yet used the full power or capacity with all the brutality we are witnessing .

#Syrian Revolution : It is complicated “1”

I consider Syria as my country , it is not my second country as it is the extension of Egypt in the North , many Egyptians believe that and many Syrians believe that also. Some will say that this is part of the Nasserite legacy and short UAR experience , well I think this is the from the few good things we are inherited the Nasserite legacy then.

Speaking from political views , since Ancient times Egyptians considered Syria as part of our national security , our security in Egypt starts from the Tartus mounts. So when I speak about Syria and its people , I speak about people. For the past months I have been covering the Syrian revolution’s news without reflecting all my thoughts, I think I will take time some of your time and reflect them now as matters develop rapidly whether inside or outside Syria.

Stuck in the middle

What is taking place in Syria now is not good after all those months of deliberate delay to save the Syrian nation from the the El Assad. This deliberate delay was intended by the international community mainly in the West aka the US administration to give El Assad all the time in the world to crack down this uprising that turned in to a revolution and at the same time to have enough time to plan for the new middle east map with all its changes. Again Israel does not want El Assad to go , after all for more than 30 years El Assads did not really want to restore the Golan. The fall of Mubarak and what followed it from protests in the middle east that either turned in to full revolutions or promising uprisings changed a lot of plans when it comes to the Middle East.

#KhadersVictory4Palestine: A Small step but a big hope

Khader's father thanks God
And the Israeli supreme court has ordered the suspension of Khader Adnan ‘s detention and his release in April 2012 after 66 days of hunger strike that revived the Palestinian hope.
Adnan has ended his amazing hunger strike today after a deal between his lawyers and the Israeli authorities. Adnan managed to make bad noise for the Israelis.
Amnesty International issued a statement today urging the Israeli authorities to release Adnan immediately saying that the decision of the court was insufficient.
Now I can’t hide my admiration with the strength and power of Randa Khader , of course I am not surprised because Randa is a Palestinian lady and standing bravely in front of hardships is not a strange thing for the Palestinian women , in fact I think they are already born with that quality.
This small deal or rather victory has brought a hope you can’t imagine to the Palestinians at least from what I see on the social networks. Adnan managed to make the world remember the Palestinian cause after months of forgetting it in the Arab spring tsunami. I can’t hide my happiness for this victory.
I can’t also hide my anger towards the Egyptian tweeps as well Maikel Nabil who has been similar experience and yet did not bother to write a single tweet as far as I could all that time about Adnan !!
Now regarding hunger strikers , well you will be surprised to know that Adnan was not the only man on hunger strike for his freedom in the Middle East because we also have Bahraini human rights activist Abdel Hady Al Khawaja who has entered his 14th day in his hunger strike in his prison. Al Khawaja is objecting the mistreatment in the Bahraini prison. He is suffering from bleeding kidney already.
Moving to Iran we got blogger and political activist Mehdi Khazali who has been on a hunger strike for 45 days now objecting his detention. Khazali is opposing the Iranian government.

Why do not we close League of Arab states then !?

So Kuwaiti Al Watan newspaper claimed that Gulf states are having negotiations with Egypt to join the GCC in order to stand against Iran’s influence according to Gulf sources in Riyadh. The newspaper claims that Cairo welcomes , well Cairo does not welcome for sure.

So after Jordan and Morocco the GCC are invited to join the GCC we are being invited to the Royal club of the Arab world , strangely we are a proud Republic.

I see that we are in front of a New Pro-American club in the region ,the new Baghdad pact !!

Why do not we close the League of Arab states then ??

Syrian Revolution : Step Down Bashar El Assad “Graphic +18”

And at last Obama said the magical words : Bashar El Assad should step down !! U.S President Barack Obama has issued a very strong statement regarding Syria telling Bashar El Assad to step down and issuing more economic sanctions on Syrian regime including a block to the assets of the Syrian government in the States.
The huffington post front page yesterday
Now USA, UK , France and Germany are now officially calling El Assad to step down. Switzerland has recalled its ambassador while Japan has recalled its ambassador and told El Assad to step down.Australia is imposing economic sanctions on Syria as well.
On the other hand the Syrian regime honored our former ambassador to Damascus !!By the way do you know that when Mohamed Radwan was released in Syria he was threatened not to mention one single word about the torture he suffered otherwise all the Egyptians they captured during that time will be killed.I think our former ambassador knows about this dirty threat. Russia is still standing with El Assad just like it is standing with Qaddafi. Iran as well is standing as El Assad as it is last ally in the Arab world , Iran is facing a huge accusation that it is participating actually along Hezbollah in cracking the revolution. Many Syrian activists believe that Iran has sent its snipers to kill the protesters. Of course such accusation needs a real smoking gun to prove it.

Syrian Revolution : The martyrs Week “Graphic”

Syrians are having the Martyrs week through out the country dedicated to the martyrs whom are completely ignored by the regime. Bashar Al Assad did not even said that he was sorry or felt sad for them !!

Syrians promised to have protests across the country next Wednesday. The Syrian activists have called the Syrian people on Facebook to boycott the Syrian mobile phone networks today. The networks are giving free minutes in solidarity with Bashar El Assad. They are also calling the citizens to protests in front of the the El-Baath party HQs across the country next Thursday April 7th on its anniversary.

There is a sit in in front of the Omari Mosque tonight at Daraa. This video below is from Daraa , it was taken on March 25,2011. You can hear in it the live ammunition sound and you can see the dead and injured in the streets. It is graphic and those who upload it online claim that the one who filmed it was killed. I do not know if he was injured or killed but it he was shot during filming.

This video below was filmed at Duma , near Damascus. It was a funeral for the martyrs who were killed last Friday

ElBaradei will Run for Presidency in Egypt

Mohamed ElBaradei has declared from couple of hours that he will run for presidency in Egypt when the presidential candidacy is officially and open and when we have a real democratic life resulted from a real constitution. This important announcement was declared earlier on air from 3 hours ago on ON TV from 6th of October and it made headlines already around the globe.

Mohamed ElBaradei spoke for the first time for 3 hours on air since the revolution and the fall of Shafik’s cabinet on an Egyptian TV channel. “For the record Shafik attacked ElBaradei”

The man has not changed his views since returning back from Vienna from a year ago. He spoke more about his views concerning Egypt , about our political structure , economy , education , social justice and our foreign policies in general. He also clarified all the myths about him whether his nationality or his wife’s nationality or his daughter’s marriage or his visit to Israel or his role in the invasion of Iraq.

He will either boycott the coming constitution amendments referendum or will vote against it because they do not limit the president’s power. He also does not approve article no.75 that deals with the citizenship and the nationality of candidates and consider it unfair. He also believes and supports the rights of the Egyptians abroad to vote.

Despite Dr. ElBaradei announced that he will run for presidency , he expressed his approval to join the presidential council he and other politicians suggested to rule the country after the AFC to give Egypt enough time for a complete democratic transition. Of course one of the conditions of the presidential council that its members will not be able to run for presidency later.

He is liberal socialist who believes in social justice.  He believes that the rich should pay for education. He believes in rebuilding our education from scratch. He believes and supports article no.2 from our constitution and does not consider it discriminatory on the contrary.

Israel will not welcome him as a president at all as he is not only liberal socialist but also liberal socialist pan Arab nationalist. Of course the student of FM Ismail Fahmi believes Israel does not want Egypt to have real democracy because then Egypt will be equal to Israel and the later will not have this master slave relation again. “Of course the only slaves of Israel in Egypt were Mubarak and his men” Another thing Israel will not like is his views about the Egyptian Iranian relations , they must return back.

ElBaradei is ready to have a debate with Amr Moussa who is also a long time friend since the days of Ismail Fahmy. He is also revealed that he will have lunch next week with Moussa. By the way I think both men are related if I am not mistaken too.

The ElBaradei campaign will be launched officially I assume very soon as the man has already gain huge popularity after this interview.

Tomorrow or rather today there will be a discussion with ElBaradei at the syndication of journalists in Cairo moderated by Dr. Alaa Al Aswany at 7 PM Cairo local time.

I forget to speak about the TV hosts , this time Reem Maged was the guest of Yosri Fouda in his show, both were great despite Reem did not speak as much as Fouda. On TV had never this amount of ads of before in late night shows like that , no wonder ElBaradei said that he wanted his share from the ads.

ON TV will upload a version of the show dubbed in English but for the current time I will share with you the Arabic version , I will update this post as the new version will be uploaded.

Dr. ElBaradei : I will run for presidency

Shut Up Khamnenei , Shut Up Fox News And Cherchez Le Regime In The gas pipeline

Khamenei is insisting of jumping in to the wagon and is spreading lies about the #Jan25. Yesterday he spoke in his Friday speech insisting that our Egyptian #Jan25 revolution is an Islamist one which is totally wrong. The #Jan25 is a rare ideology free  revolution , Mubarak’s dictatorship rule managed to unite us with all our differences in a very rare occurrence not only in Egypt but rather in the world.
Khamenei spoke and the regime is using his statements to attack the revolution , this statement supports the claims of the regime that this is an Iranian  funded revolution to destroy Egypt. The regime also using this statement to scare the west and the world.
I think Khamenei only speaks about the Egyptian revolution to tease the Egyptian regime but not to really encourage because in the end he is very scared from something similar to happen in Tehran.
The reformists in Iran have praised the Egyptian uprising before anyone speak about it there, already according to my knowledge the Iranian official media made it look like an Islamist revolution to the Iranian people.
Khamenei is harming us indeed so he should shut up.
