Insider’s guide to D.C.

Each week, Cultural Tourism DC asks well-known Washingtonians to list their favorite attractions or events.

This week’s list comes from Doris A.M. Thomas, the Founder and Company Director of Serenity Players. Here’s a sample of some of her picks.

1) Eckington Neighborhood – I was married on O Street, NE, right off North Capital Street almost 60 years ago and still hold this neighborhood dear to heart.

2) Freedman’s Hospital – Although there is only one building still standing as a reminder of the first African American hospital here in the city, I love sharing stories about the birth of my first three kids at this historic landmark.

For Doris’s complete list, visit the Cultural Tourism DC website.
