‘Al Masdar’ to provide Arabic language and cultural information

Doha 27th October 2013: Qatar Foundation International (QFI) in cooperation with Center for the Languages, Arts, & Societies of the Silk Road will launch an Arabic resource site- Al Masdar next month, which provide information relevant to Arabic language teachers, students of Arabic, designers and administrators of Arabic language programs, and the general public.

Students and teachers from across the world can freely access study materials and know about professional opportunities related to Arabic language and culture through ‘Al Masdar.’

QFI, a US-based member of Qatar Foundation (QF) dedicated to connecting various cultures by increasing the number of youths in America and other nations with good knowledge and understanding of Arab culture and advancing global citizenship through education.

Currently, QFI provides direct support to 26 schools across the United States, Brazil, and Canada.

QFI focuses on grant-giving and programmatic activities that develop education as a force that helps collaboration across geographical, social and cultural boundaries.

It provides grants to Arabic language teachers, curriculum development grants to language organizations and teacher fellowships.

QFI also provides summer scholarships for students. 5000 students got advantage from additional grants to teachers and programmes for 2012-2013 period.

So far around 1289 students were joined QFI-affiliated Arabic programmes.
