Gallagher Leaves On Loan

Midfielder Paul Gallagher has left Leicester and joined League One side Preston North End on a loan deal which will last until January 2014.

The 29 year old joined us from Blackburn Rovers in the summer of 2009 and has in that time gone on to make 139 appearances for the club, scoring 28 goals along the way.

Gallagher has struggled to figure in manager Nigel Pearson's plans, and he only made ten appearances last season, and most recently played in the game two all draw against Crystal Palace last April.

He also spent a brief time with Sheffield United last season where he played six games and scored one goal.

He links up with Simon Grayson's Preston in time for their match against Tranmere Rovers where they will be looking for another three points to continue their early promotion push.

Gallagher will know the club reasonably well as he spent a loan period with them whilst being on Blackburn's books back in the 2007-08 season, where he made 19 appearances all in and scored once also.

With him not figuring in Pearson's plans I wouldn't be surprised if something happens in January should the move go well.
