From early 2014, PollWatch – a project launched by VoteWatch Europe and sponsored by Burson-Marsteller – will track opinion polls ahead of the Parliament elections.
This initiative follows on from Predict09.eu, a website supported by Burson-Marsteller that sought to predict the results of the 2009 European elections based on a statistical model of the performance of national parties in European Parliament elections. Predict09.eu was developed by three leading political scientists: Simon Hix (London School of Economics), Michael Marsh (Trinity College Dublin), and Nick Vivyan (London School of Economics).
PollWatch will launch in early 2014 and will show how the European political parties and national parties are faring in public opinion polls throughout the campaign. It will also use opinion poll data from Eurobarometer to show correlation between opinion trends and support for different political parties.
