Today is a very, very, exciting day over at Bunny & Bells! We have our first guest contributor!!! I am so excited to share this joyous occasion with our good friend Maggie, she is a woman of many talents! Not only is she a fabulous mother, extremely talented photographer, but she is an AMAZING cook! She will inspire you in many different ways. What can I say? She is a woman made of 100% creativity! Get inspired over at her website right here.  Take it away Maggie!

I spend a lot of time in the kitchen, a lot of time. I have a big drawer full of utensils and miscellaneous culinary gadgets. I have a large variety of baking pans & tins and cupboards full of various appliances. The three items I currently find priceless are my stand mixer, ice cream maker and my doughnut pan. All of which are worth their weight in gold, and more!

If you find making doughnuts a daunting task, never fear, these are baked so they are incredibly easy and fun to make. If you don't have doughnut pan, trust me, it's worth the investment. They run anywhere from $8 to $20 each, and don't take up any more room than a muffin pan.

Keep in mind, the glaze is optional. The doughnuts are delicious as is, but my sweet-tooth is ruthless (especially in the a.m.) so I had no problem loading it on. :)

Baked Pumpkin Doughnuts

1 3/4 cup Flour, spooned & leveled
1    teaspoon baking powder
1/4  teaspoon baking soda
1/2  teaspoon fine salt
1/2  teaspoon pumpkin pie spice, i like to make my own
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup Organic pumpkin puree
1/2 cup canola oil
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Creme Fraiche Icing
3/4 to 1 cup sifted powdered sugar
2 tablespoons creme fraiche ( you may also use sour cream)
1/2 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
sprinkles, optional

Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
Lightly oil compartments of 2 doughnut pans, I used coconut oil spray. I only have one, so I do this in batches.

In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and pumpkin pie spice and set aside.

In a lager bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, sugars, canola oil, egg and vanilla.
Add the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined, do not overmix.

Pipe batter into prepared pan(s). I used a pastry bag and 1/2" tip, but you can use a gallon size storage bag with a corner snipped at least 1/2" Fill to the top.

Bake until golden brown and spring back lightly when touched, about 12-14 minutes.
Cool in the pans for about 10 minutes and then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.

Meanwhile, whisk together powdered sugar, creme fraiche and lemon juice. Dip doughnuts in glaze, rotate to coat evenly. Add sprinkles if using. Allow to set at least  1 hour and then enjoy!

handmade // easy garden markers

Materials:
Wood Round
Chalkboard Paint
Sponge Paint Brush
Wood Dowel
Hot Glue Gun
Chalk

Steps:
1) Use your chalkboard paint to paint your wood round.
2) Once your paint has dried, heat up your hot glue gun and glue the dowel to the back of your wood round.

3) Use the chalk to write what your garden is growing.
4) Place your new garden marker in your garden bed, and enjoy!

I live in San Diego, so there is not much of a fall/winter here. I would imagine if you have true wet seasons then the chalk may be a pain in the butt!

We are pretty excited for these Winter Tomatoes, we have never tried them before! Im also curious as to how big the Brussels Sprouts will get. We still plan on adding some Kale into the mix, as well as some other greens.  Hopefully we get as big of a harvest as we did this Summer. There is nothing more rewarding than preparing the vegetables you harvested that day for a delicious meal!

Yummmmmm Im already planning the perfect Eggplant Parmesan with this bad boy! The last Eggplant we planted was savagely attacked by the most massive caterpillar. Im keeping my eyes peeled this season, I WILL not share my Eggplants (I know Im so greedy!)

The beauty of photography is the ability to allow others a brief moment to escape to place of nostalgia. When you come across a photographer whose photos embrace that feel, you just want to look at their work over and over again. Eric Warner 's photography has that ability to take you straight to that moment when the initial image was captured. He is a true lover of film and has mastered the art of patience that is required with film photography. When it comes to digital photography you can take hundreds of photos with no rhyme or reason. You just take obscene amounts of photos because you can. You upload them to your computer and alter the image to your liking, which ultimately alters what you experienced when you took the photo. The beauty behind film photography is you don't have a memory card hooked up to your camera, you have a limited amount of photos you can take per roll. You have to slow down and connect with your surroundings. You have to feel inspired to shoot what you want to capture. With Eric's photos, once he develops his roll of film that is it. No need to digitally alter his images because he initially took the time and thought to capture what he was experiencing at that exact moment. His passion for film shows through his work. His photos make you slow down and experience the beauty which inspired him to capture that brief moment of time. Treat your eyeballs and take a break from the craziness we get lost in everyday. Slow down and enjoy a brief vacation through Eric Warner's photos.

destinations // treebones resort big sur, ca

Im here at home, sick as a dog torturing myself by dreaming up vacations while immobile on the sofa. The list is ever growing, but this by far is one of my favorite destinations. Big Sur California is one of the most beautiful sceneries I have ever experienced. Growing up, we would camp along a river during the summers in our little retro pop up camper. I remember every vacation as a child because Big Sur is one of those places that no matter how many years pass, the memories of this magical place stick in your brain. We went on a girls trip to San Francisco a few months back and on the way home drove highway 1 back down to San Diego. It was the longest ride home ever but worth every second! While driving along the coast, you force yourself to stop at every place manageable. When you step out of your car you just stop, stare, and remain speechless while glaring at nature's natural beauties.  When Eric and I vacation we normally sleep in our VW Vanagon, this is one of my favorite forms of escaping. Although every once in awhile it is nice to treat yourself with a cozy mattress, warm shower, and prepared food from a professional. This is were Treebones Resort comes into play. At the resort they have Yurts, human nests, as well as campsites. While Treebones Resort is a tad bit more expensive than our VW Vanagon housing, I think it would be a beautiful way to experience the breathtaking views of Big Sur.

All the photos above are from Treebones Resort's website.

The 3 photos above are some film ones I took on our girls trip to San Francisco.  The first one is of my girlfranns Kim, Emma, Danneth and Emily. The second is of Pfeiffer Falls. The last one is of a random adventure mobile. Now get outta your house and go on adventure (hopefully soon I will take my own advice!)
