I use a very safe environmentally friendly enzyme that breaks down adhesives quickly with virtually no sheetrock damage
Working neatly
I take off the top layer to absorb the moisture and protect the floor taping plastic to the baseboard to prevent water damage to your floors
Sheetrock joins
You could see this join through the old paper.
Repairs
I used tape with more joint compound to hide the seam both vertically and horizontally
Plaster cracks
This can be normal with old plaster
Starting repairs
I use a webbing to strengthen the plaster where needed
Webbing
The webbing is self stick to enhance the bond
Finished
After a couple layers of joint compound the wall is smooth & strong again. Sanding is usually not necessary, but if it is I use a sander attached to a vacuum to prevent dust
Loose plaster
The keys broke away from the lath. I drilled small holes and used a substance behind the plaster to re attach it to the lath making it strong again
Priming
I always prime sheetrock and size plaster
Better seams
I overlap an make sure that the paper stays level
Overlapped
I overlapped this vinyl about 1/4 inch
Double-cutting
Using a straight edge I carefully cut through both pieces of vinyl
finishing
I take off the top piece and the bottom piece of vinyl so that it lays back down smoothly
seaming
This process makes an invisible seam
Laying thick vinyl down
I use friction to heat up the vinyl to make it compliant
Cutting
Good cuts are very important to a professionally finished room
Seaming
Make each seam as invisible as possible. It's just as important to finish a room properly as it is to begin it.
