PyeongChang, Salzburg and Sochi Make 2014 Olympics Short List
Today at the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Executive Board Meeting in Lausanne Switzerland, IOC President Jacques Rogge announced the list of candidates for the 2014 Olympic Winter Games.
Of the seven applicants three were chosen – PyeongChang South Korea, Salzburg Austria and Sochi Russia were on the list. Almaty Kazakhstan, Borjomi Georgia, Jaca Spain and Sofia Bulgaria did not qualify.
The candidates now have until January 2007 to submit their complete bid dossier to the IOC for consideration before the final vote takes place July 7, 2007 in Guatemala City.
