War-time mayor of Bosnia town arrested

BELGRADE -- Serbian police (MUP) officers have arrested the war-time Mayor of Trebinje in Herzegovina, a Belgrade daily is reporting.

Božidar Vučurević was also one of the founders of the Serb Democratic Party in Bosnia, Blic newspaper said.

He was arrested on a Croatian war crimes warrant, according to this.

The arrest took place on a border crossing between Serbia and Bosnia, and Vučurović was taken to a police station in Mali Zvornik.

Croatia has charged Vučurević with shelling the town of Dubrovnik in the early 1990s, when he was the mayor of Trebinje.
