por ENPIvideo 23 reproducciones
This video talks about the EU budget support in the Eastern Partnership and Southern
Mediterranean regions. The countries which benefit from EU budget support are:
Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine (in East) and Egypt, Jordan, Morocco
and Tunisia (in South). The main objective of such support is to promote democratic
governance, as well as sustainable and inclusive growth and poverty reduction. EU
budget support programmes help create a more favourable environment for economic
development, contributing to the welfare and prosperity of citizens and businesses.

EU Neighbourhood Info Centre Photostory Armenia Directors across borders
por ENPIvideo 123 reproducciones
The 1-minute video talks about the 'Directors Across Borders' project -- funded
within the Eastern Partnership Culture programme. This project supports young
specialists to develop filming skills that are making them more competitive on the
international market. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the cinema industry in
all Eastern Partnership countries - including Armenia - was left with Soviet
traditions and without Soviet funding. Today, this poses a number of challenges,
such as adapting to a more modern approach to film directing, but also fund raising,
production and distribution.

por ENPIvideo 77 reproducciones
This video talks about a Cross Border Cooperation project partly financed by the
European Union, which helps Russian and European scientists to develop new
ice-resistant materials. Steel is mostly used at temperatures above -20ºС. But
what about icebreakers and cargo boats sailing in Arctic regions? And how can you
build oil drilling rigs and gas and oil pipelines at temperatures as low as -60°?
Here is the story!

EU Neighbourhood Info Centre Photostory: Ukraine - Fairy tales to heal family wounds
por ENPIvideo 100 reproducciones
The video tells about young people coming from orphanages, foster families and
deprived backgrounds in four countries, attending a ten-day workshop aimed at
helping them to overcome their family traumas. Twenty eight teenagers met in the
coastal village of Koblevo, Ukraine, where they learnt new social skills they need
to live and work together, with a strong focus on respect and dialogue, especially
between generations. At the end, they staged a play about family relations that they
had written and prepared themselves, a fairy tale about a group of old dwarves,
victims of a spell that made them unable to open their hearts to younger dwarves.

activities for youth in the West Bank and Gaza such as lectures on current affairs
at local universities, volunteer days, a host of cultural activities and a reporting
competition for young Palestinian journalists.

EU Neighbourhood Info Centre Photostory: MOLDOVA - Cutting down on energy costs? Yes, you can
por ENPIvideo 173 reproducciones
The 1-minute video talks about the changes to their work environment brought about
by the largest clothes producer in the country, by deciding to cut on its energy
costs. The video shows how this factory not only became more productive in general,
but also improved the general atmosphere and enhanced competitiveness.
All these changes were possible with the help of the Moldovan Sustainable Energy
Financing Facility (MoSEFF). It was launched by the European Bank for Reconstruction
and Development (EBRD) and financially supported by the European Union through its
INOGATE Programme -- a programme which has helped to change the life of Moldovan
companies and their workers.

It's no secret that the Mediterranean region accounts for the overwhelming majority
of the world's olive oil production, in fact 97% of it. What is less well-known,
however, is that for the estimated two million tons of olive oil produced annually,
some nine million tons of waste is generated. Given the potential environmental harm
that this can cause, scientists across the region are putting their minds together
to discover the perfect method of minimising the environmental impact of olive oil
mill wastewater, generating bio-products for commercial use in the process. Thanks
to project MEDOLICO -- funded by the EU through its Cross Border Cooperation
initiative - the Jordan University of Science and Technology has opened its doors
as a testing ground.

ARMENIA - The better the metro system, the happier the citizens
por ENPIvideo 772 reproducciones
For more than 30 years, the Yerevan metro system worked without major
repairs. But nothing lasts forever. The country needed a big investment in
order to keep the metro going. The Yerevan Metro Rehabilitation Project,
co-financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the
European Investment Bank and the EU Neighbourhood Investment Facility, brought
the solution. With an investment of over 15 million euros, the metro has been
given a new lease of life.

The modernisation of the road leading to Tislit village was done with the help of the Neighbourhood Investment Facility (NIF). NIF is a financial mechanism that aims, amongst
other things, to reduce disparities between rural and urban areas. Not so long ago, the mountains hemming in Tislit meant that the village's inhabitants had almost no access to medical centres.
