Jeffrey Epstein, Education Activist, Applauds Bloomberg's Plan for New York City Charter Schools.

New York/ – New York City Mayor, Michael Bloomberg, recently announced that he will personally fund the creation of four charter schools in New York City. The announcement was welcomed by New York financier and education philanthropist, Jeffrey Epstein. Epstein, a long-time supporter of Bloomberg, has financed numerous charter schools across the country including the Maya Angelou schools in Washington DC, the highly acclaimed Bard High School Early College in New York City and the Harlem Link Charter School.

Bloombergs funding will come through his foundation, the Young Mens Initiative, which is also funded by George Soros
Open Society Foundations. Once approved by the state Board of Regents, the co-ed charter high schools will open in September 2014, alongside four public schools in five high-poverty neighborhoods: in Brooklyn, the South Bronx, Queens and East Harlem. Both the public and charter schools will share a board of trustees, with Melanie Hartzog, a former City Hall official for Health and Human Services, as a proposed member.

The Mayor has a keen sense of whats needed to run a charter school, Jeffrey Epstein noted, whose own foundation also has a long history of supporting early education and Head Start programs. Bloomberg oversees numerous charter schools and understands how to optimize fiscal and academic standards.

So far, there are mixed reviews about Bloombergs initiative. Supporters of charter schools cite the expansion of a successful alternative to the public system, while others criticize the frequent closings of charters as well as the partial use of public tax dollars to manage the schools.

In addition to funding charter and Head Start schools, The Jeffrey Epstein VI Foundation continues to be a staunch supporter of cutting edge science and science education. Jeffrey Epstein also founded the Program for Evolutionary Dynamics at Harvard University in 2003 with a $30 million grant. He is a former member of the Trilateral Commission, the Council on Foreign Relations, Rockefeller University, New York Academy of Science and sits on the board of the Mind, Brain and Behavior Committee at Harvard University.

Jeffrey Epstein, Prominent Education Patron, Backs Obama's Call for Early Education

The Jeffrey Epstein VI Foundation Supports the President's State of the Union Call for Universal Preschool Education.

New York/
Jeffrey Epstein, the prominent education philanthropist, who supports science education and early development across the US, heralded President Obamas State of the Union call for nationwide preschool education.

Early education is essential, Jeffrey Epstein asserted who started the
Jeffrey Epstein VI Foundation in 2000. It stimulates the developing mind, and fosters a lifetime of curiosity and achievement. All the statistics point to a greater chance for success when a student experiences early education, from scores to school attendance.

According to the National
Institute for Early Education Research, only 28% of 4 year olds in the United States are enrolled in state-financed preschool programs and only five states, offer preschool options to all 4-year-olds. The Presidents proposal would provide federal matching funds to states that offer public preschool openings to families earning up to 200% of the poverty level. The President would also allocate funds to states to expand public pre-kindergarten slots for middle-class families, who could pay on a sliding scale of tuition. The federal government would also have to approve the states curriculum and administrative standards for their preschools.

Setting standards of excellence is essential, Jeffrey Epstein affirmed, who has funded numerous early development programs including the first Head Start program in the US Virgin Islands, where his foundation is based. However, there should be a large degree of autonomy and schools should be rewarded by their results. It's problematic when schools cannot make effective decisions.

Critics of Congress Head Start program which started in 1981 to support preschools across the country, cite an expensive $7 billion annual endeavor with an uncertain impact on improving education rates. But many argue that the requirements for excellence are inconsistent, unenforced and teachers are still paid well below the public school level. Cont....

Jeffrey Epstein, Celebrated Philanthropist, Funds Princeton's Institute for Advanced Study.

NEW YORK/ Well-known science philanthropist,
Jeffrey Epstein, founder of the Program for Evolutionary Dynamics at Harvard
University, has provided essential funding to the famed Institute for Advanced
Study at Princeton. The funding comes at a time when four Institute physicists
received the celebrated Fundamental Physics Prize for ground breaking research
in particle physics.

"There's no better time to invest in particle physics," Jeffrey Epstein
asserted. "Much needed unifying theories are finally coming to light."

Indeed, each of the four physicists who received the Fundamental Physics Prize
was cited for their unparalleled contributions to physics. Arkani-Hamed was
cited for his theories on large extra dimensions, the Higgs boson,
supersymmetry, dark matter and gauge theory scattering amplitudes. Maldacena for
showing that "black holes and quantum mechanics are compatible, resolving the
black hole information paradox" and for providing "a useful tool for the study
of strongly coupled quantum systems." Seiberg was named for his unifying quantum
field, string and supersymmetric quantum field theories and Witten for non
perturbative duality symmetries, models of particle physics derived from string
theory, dark matter detection and the twister-string approach to particle
scattering amplitudes.

Their accomplishments are fitting for the Institute that houses them. Founded in
1930 as an independent academic institution in Princeton, New Jersey, it soon
became the academic home of Albert Einstein, along with 33 Nobel Laureates, 38
Fields Medalists and countless winners of the Wolf and MacArthur prizes. Today
the Institute is a leader for theoretical research and intellectual inquiry.
Entirely independent of Princeton University, the Institute is made up of four
schools: Historical Studies, Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Social Science.

Jeffrey Epstein supports cutting edge physics and science research around the
world. In 2003, he founded the Program for Evolutionary Dynamics at Harvard
with a $30 million grant to study evolution with the use of mathematics and
biochemistry. The Program is under the direction of Martin Nowak, Professor of
Mathematics and Biology at Harvard.

Epstein is a former member of the Trilateral Commission, the Council on Foreign
Relations, the New York Academy of Science and a former Board Member of
Rockefeller University. He sits on the Mind, Brain and Behavior Committee at

Jeffrey Epstein, Education Activist, Funds the Prestigious New York Academy of Art

NEW YORK/ The Jeffrey Epstein VI Foundation has given crucial funding to the New York Academy of Art, one of the few graduate art schools in the United States that focus on a purely classical approach to the visual arts.
The funding comes at a critical time for the Academy since it has recently expanded its continuing education and alumni programs, along with its master classes and special events.

The New York Academy of Art, also known as the Graduate School of Figurative Art, was founded in 1982, in the post-modern era, by post-modern artist Andy Warhol and writer Tom Wolfe, who were devoted to fostering the resurgence of figurative and representational art. The Academy provides a two year MFA graduate degree, combining intensive technical training with critical discourse. Curriculum requirements include painting, drawing, and sculpture. Much emphasis is given to studying anatomy and drawing, the foundation of Renaissance art. And yet, Academy students are not steered towards a career in representational art. On the contrary, students are encouraged to use classical skills to produce vital contemporary art. cont...
