Tashi Wangmo is a Member of the National Council (Upper House) of the Parliament of Bhutan. Wangmo joined the civil service of Bhutan in 1999 as an Associate Engineer with the Department of Civil Aviation. From 2000-2003 she worked as a Planning Officer for the National Technical Training Authority (NTTA), the agency responsible for coordinating and overseeing implementation of vocational and education training-related activities across the country. In 2004, she became the Head of the Policy and Planning Division of the Ministry of Labour and Human Resources. She was appointed by His Majesty the King as a Member of the National Council of Bhutan in April 2008. She has a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia, and a Master's in Public Policy from the National Graduate Institute of Policy Studies (GRIPS) in Tokyo, Japan.
