What others are saying about New Beginnings Christian Counselling

In my experience, I have yet to meet anyone who has matched Dave’s ability to speak wisdom into difficult situations. He demonstrates excellent listening skills and has an awareness of people’s unique communicative abilities and needs. I see in Dave the most significant and perhaps most difficult to acquire skill: a warm and genuine rapport with people. I would wholeheartedly and without hesitation recommend Dave.
-Chris Squires, Young Life Regional Director, Edmonton AB

Dave has been my good friend and colleague for many years now and has always had a listening ear and grace focused understanding in our conversations. He brings a balance of rationality and sensitivity that I find rare in leaders today – not afraid to speak the truth but fully aware of how it must always be spoken in a loving, gracious, and encouraging way.
I will recommend that my students at the university take advantage of Dave’s online counselling skills, because he works through personal issues in an approach that is grace oriented, Christ-centered, and biblically focused.

-Rev. Bryan Clarke, Chaplain, University of Alberta (gracefinder.org)

Dave is a solid man of God. He’ll ask questions and probe your answers and challenge you with scripture. I recommend him.

I would strongly recommend Dave Bootsma to you. Dave is a great communicator, sensitive and caring, and has a depth of history and knowledge, which gives much to draw on. He has served our community for many years and is dedicated to making people’s lives whole and productive.
-Clint Batchelor, Pastor, Vernon Christian Fellowship

As a pastor I value Dave’s gospel-centered approach to counselling. Since everyone sins and everyone suffers, everyone needs to be redeemed by Jesus. Knowing Dave as a fellow pastor and friend, I have seen firsthand how his relationship with Jesus bears fruit in his marriage, with his children, and overflows into his ministry as a counsellor.
-Jeff Peter, Pastor, First Baptist Church, Armstrong, BC

In his, “Fleeing the sirens” conference Dave Bootsma confronted the sexual challenges facing our youth today in a biblical and relevant manner. Our youth were reminded of the hope of the gospel and the power to change in a living relationship with Jesus Christ. Feedback from youth and parents was very positive.
– Rev. Ian Crooks, Pastor, Westminster Chapel, Lethbridge, AB

Dave Bootsma’s handling of the very sensitive topic of our conference (sexuality) was biblical, Christ-centered, grace-centered, and extremely well done. Dave is a powerful speaker who made a strong impact on our youth and opened up an important dialogue in our church in one weekend with us. All involved in this conference were very impressed with his work, and we could not have been happier with how he handled the topics and the impact he made. I certainly would give my whole-hearted recommendation for Dave to any church considering him for a seminar.
– Matthew Vandyke, Youth Leader

The sessions were awesome, giving me a scriptural perspective how to deal with my daily struggles. The last session about guilt and shame was the one I realized why I had such difficulty getting back to church. It gives me a spark of hope that I maybe can step into a church with the courage scripture gives me.
Thanking you again!

I just wanted to tell you I’ve been to seminars and read books about depression and anxiety, but your seminar was the best I’ve attended. You really helped me feel strong, empowered.  Thanks for not pulling punches. It’s obvious: Jesus was missing from all of the other education tools I’ve ever taken advantage of. He’s the missing ‘peace’.
-attendee of Emotional Wholeness seminar

Dave is a warm, engaging man with a ready laugh and a compassionate heart. Above all, he understands how to apply the good news of God’s redemption to hearts still ravaged and broken. He has been of great help to many in our congregation, and we recommend him highly.
