NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — By Monday morning, we’ll all be talking about which teams will be squaring off in East Rutherford, N.J. for the Lombardi Trophy.

And then, the following week, we’ll have ourselves a party.

The Super Bowl Host Committee says it will hold the NFL’s first big-game kickoff event on Monday, January 27, at Liberty State Park in Jersey City. The “Super Bowl Kickoff Spectacular” will feature a concert by Daughtry and a Macy’s fireworks show. The Goo Goo Dolls are also scheduled to perform.

The spectacular will be broadcast on Fox Sports 1 starting at 8 p.m.

“Super Bowl XLVIII is no stranger to historic ‘firsts’ and the ‘Super Bowl Kickoff Spectacular’ will be a special part of the groundbreaking theme so closely associated with this game,” host committee co-chairman Woody Johnson said in a statement. “The Super Bowl experience in New Jersey and New York promises to be unlike any other, and this event will serve as an exciting, welcoming start to the week.”

Football’s first outdoor cold-weather Super Bowl is scheduled for Feb. 2 at MetLife Stadium.

The Tri-State area’s calendar is loaded with events leading up to the game, including “Super Bowl Boulevard,” a free fan fest in Manhattan that will be open Jan. 29 to Feb. 1. WFAN radio will be hosting a blockbuster comedy show at the Hammerstein Ballroom on Jan. 29 and a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center the night before the game.

“As momentum builds for Super Bowl XLVIII, and all eyes turn to New York and New Jersey, the ‘Super Bowl Kickoff Spectacular’ will serve as a rally for the incredible residents of and visitors to the region,” host committee co-chairman Jonathan Tisch said. “We are excited to hold this event for our region’s fans, allowing them to be a part of the celebratory fanfare that will drive momentum for the continuation of the week as we welcome the world to New Jersey and New York.”
