My Scoop users personal details are collected for the purpose of providing customised news services to the user, in order to contact users regarding these services, and for demographic analysis of scoop's user base.

Scoop is comitted to maintaining the privacy of its users. Scoop users are also well protected by New Zealand's privacy laws which forbid:

1. The use of this information for purposes other than those for which the information was originally collected.
2. The distribution of personally identifying information to any third party.

These conditions may only be broken with the express consent of the user, or by court order.
