Why it is prescribed (Indications) :
This medication is an antipsychotic and prokinetic agent, prescribed for dyspepsia, gastro-esophageal reflux disease, and irritable bowel syndrome.
When it is not to be taken (Contraindications):
Contraindicated in patients with gastrointestinal bleeding, and intestinal obstruction.

Category B : Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women OR Animal studies have shown an adverse effect, but adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus in any trimester.
Dosage & When it is to be taken :
Adult: PO- The recommended dose is 25 mg 3 times/day.
How it should be taken :
It comes as a tablet to take by mouth, as directed by your physician.
Warnings and Precautions : Caution should be exercised in patients with history of neuroendocrine tumor, epilepsy, manic states, abnormally-high levels of prolactin in the blood, painful, lumpy breasts, heart disease, any allergy, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
It may cause dizziness or drowsiness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication.
Side Effects : Genitourinary - Absence of menstrual period, breast enlargement in male, spontaneous milk secretion, and changes in libido.
Potentially Fatal - Neuroleptic malignant syndrome.
Other Precautions : Avoid excess dosage.
Storage Conditions : Store it at room temperature (25°C).
