We welcome you to attend a suitable barista course at our dedicated coffee space. Freshen your coffee knowledge and upgrade your barista skills ... take a unique opportunity to see behind the coffee scenes of a roastery and plantation ... and learn the story of coffee from seed to cup.

Courses are run by our experienced Barista, certified Group Trainer, Roaster and ex cafe owner Andi Davey. Andi is passionate and dedicated in sharing her coffee knowledge. Students will be provided with a certificate upon successful completion of the course. The certificate will show attendance and skill level indicators to show to employers. 

Course outline: Cafe Barista and Advanced Barista courses cover varying levels of detail, adapted to suit the group's skill level and interest. Each course includes -

Roastery Tour: Welcome coffees, hot chocolate or chai latte on the verandah. 

The roastery and plantation tour introduces you to coffee growing and processing, roasting, bean origins and blend development, storage and freshness.  Get to know what coffee goes through before it reaches the cafe.

Coffee Styles: All the latest trends explained and presented, with practice time.

Grinder: Adjustments, dosing, and tamping. How what you do, affects the espresso shot.

Espresso extraction:  Learn all the visual clues in getting the best shot. Guidance and practice.

Milk texturising: Latest tips for silky milk and latte art.

Cleaning and Maintenance.  Best practice to suit cafe espresso machines and grinders.

 note : Advanced Barista provides greater depth of knowledge in how your techniques affect the pour. Experience and adjust automatic and dosing grinders, set volumetrics and free pour. Detailed cleaning and best practices suitable for managing a barista station discussed.
