August 15, 2013… State Senator Joni Ernst, Republican candidate for the United States Senate, is pleased to announce the endorsement of Iowa State Representative Rob Bacon (R).

In announcing his endorsement of Joni Ernst for United States Senate, State Representative Bacon said, “I am proud to support State Senator Joni Ernst for the office of United States Senate.  I have worked with Senator Ernst the past three years in the Iowa Legislature and know her to be a true hard working Iowan.  Senator Ernst reliably sticks to her conservative values, lovingly serves her family, sincerely serves our state, and patriotically serves our country. I am looking forward to voting for State Senator Ernst, knowing she will remain dedicated to working for Iowans and our values while serving in the United States Senate.”

In response to Representative Bacon’s endorsement, Ernst stated: “I am incredibly proud to have earned the trust and support of Representative Rob Bacon.  He is an admirable public servant who has dutifully represented his constituents in both the State House and State Senate.  I greatly look forward to campaigning with him in north-central Iowa in the coming weeks and want to publicly thank him for his continued service to our great state.”

State Representative Rob Bacon represents the 48th District, including portions of Hamilton, Webster and Boone Counties.   Prior to serving in the House of Representatives, Bacon served in the State Senate representing District 5, which includes Wright, Hamilton and Story Counties.  In the State House, Representative Bacon serves as the Vice Chair of the Human Resources Committee and is on the Natural Resources, State Government and Veterans Affairs Committees.  He is a licensed funeral director and is the owner of Bacon Funeral Homes.
