The full video for U2's Invisible, first teased during the Super Bowl, is now on YouTube. The black and white clip, directed by Mark Romanek, finds the Irish quartet performing against a massive tri-panel screen before an audience of exuberant fans.
A 60-second clip of the song and video aired during the Feb. 2 Super Bowl, when Invisible was offered as a free download for 36 hours in partnership with (RED) and Bank of America. Bank of America donated $1 for each download, raising $3 million to support The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
Produced by Danger Mouse and due on U2's forthcoming 13th studio album, the new track is typical of the band's joyous, soaring and inspiring anthems. Goosed by a motorik beat and piled high with Edge's otherworldly guitar spasms, the tune functions as both a love song and a universal call for harmony as Bono soulfully intones, "There is no them, there's only us."
It's the first U2 song since last fall's Ordinary Love (from the biopic Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom), which won a Golden Globe and is nominated for an Oscar. The band's last album was 2009's No Line on the Horizon.
