I have some flavor oils that I find are a bit bitter and would like to make them sweeter. I have seen special sweetners for lip balm flavor oils sold. Is it necessary to purchase something specifically for lip balms are is there maybe a mroe common product that might be available locally that could be used?

I use Stevia, I also use it as a sweetner so it's already in the pantry! It comes as a liquid and is easy to use!

MMS has Sugar Kisses which is a sweetener. I haven't tried it, but I think it's been talked about on here before, if you want to try a search. :)

I was just on a site that claims to have a "sweetened" Fractionated Coconut Oil and that it works great as a sweetner for lip balms...anyone know anything about that?

MMS Sugar Kisses does the trick.
The Stevia powder is nice, but make sure you use VERY small amounts as this stuff is very powerful.

Uh-oh, I am glad that I didn't put an order in with Mabel White.

As regards the sweetener, wish I could remember where I read it, but I read that ppl use a little Sweet-n-Low....? You know I haven't tried it, but just something I retained in the recesses of my already crowded mind.

I think Sweet n Low contains saccharin. I know some people would rather avoid saccharin even if the amount would be very small. Lip balm wouldn't have that much in it.
