Harry Tufnell played for Barnsley Football Club from 1909 to 1920, he was signed from Bury Football Club in 1909 as an inside forward, weighing 11stone 10pounds and measuring Five foot seven and a half inches in height.
He made his debut for Barnsley against Glossop North East on 4th September 1909 and played his last game for Barnsley against Birmingham City on 14th February 1920.
In all he made 199 League games scoring 61 goals and 29 FA cup games scoring 10 goals in his time with Barnsley.
On leaving Barnsley in 1920 he went as player/manager to Wakefield City and in 1921 left there to take up the same position with Doncaster.
He is best remembered in Barnsley folklore as the man who won the cup for Barnsley, when he scored the only goal in the last minute of extra time, when Barnsley beat West Bromwich Albion in the FA Cup Final at Bramall Lane Sheffield on Wednesday 24th April 1912.
