Paul Hegarty is to take charge of Finn Harps
Former Derry City assistant manager Paul Hegarty is to take over as boss at Eircom League club Finn Harps.

Hegarty's appointment, on a two-year contract, was confirmed by the Donegal club at a news conference on Wednesday.

Former Linfield and Coleraine star Tony Gorman left the First Division outfit at the end of the 2006 season after just over a year in charge.

Former Derry City player Hegarty had a spell as boss of Irish League team Institute, resigning in 2004.

He went on to become assistant to Stephen Kenny at the Brandywell.
