RUDDY SWITCHES TO STOCKPORT
Everton goalkeeper John Ruddy has joined League Two side Stockport County on a month-long loan.
The 19-year-old, who was signed from Cambridge United in the summer of 2005, put pen to paper on the loan deal this week.
Ruddy spent three spells on loan last term to gain further league experience, spending time at Rushden & Diamonds, Walsall and Chester.
He also made his Premiership debut last term, coming on as an early substitute in the victory over Blackburn at Goodison following the dismissal of Iain Turner.
He is a reserve team regular but admitted earlier this season that another loan move would be beneficial - particularly as the reserves are not in action again until October.
He told evertonTV: “This year I am more settled here and I would look forward to going on loan anywhere if the gaffer sees it as a good opportunity.
“Going on loan is most definitely something that can benefit you. As long as the football is a good standard and you are getting games every week, it is good for any player."
Stockport follow their match against Shrewsbury with a home encounter against Wrexham on Saturday. The Greater Manchester outfit have six matches to contend with during the duration of Ruddy's loan spell.
