Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant-General (LG) Ng Yat Chung received the Bintang Yudha Dharma Utama (Grand Meritorious Military Order), Indonesia’s highest military award, today. The award was conferred by the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Admiral (Ret) Widodo Adisutjipto.
The presentation of the award reflects the warm defence ties between both countries. The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) and Indonesian National Defence Force (TNI) share a longstanding defence relationship that spans a broad spectrum of exercises and professional interactions across the three Services.
Former Chiefs of Defence Force LG (NS) Lim Chuan Poh and LG (Ret) Bey Soo Khiang received the Bintang Yudha Dharma Utama in May 01 and Oct 96, respectively.
