Namco Pushes Virtual Console Arcade
Twenty additional arcade classics on the way in Japan.
You might have noticed a slowdown of late in Virtual Console releases over in Japan. While the retro service's schedule was once packed with upcoming titles, Nintendo's monthly schedule updates can now often be counted on one hand.
But Namco Bandai looks like it's trying to change that. The publisher announced today a new lineup of arcade releases for the Japanese Virtual Console. Furthermore, it said that it would be increasing its release pace from the current one game per week to two.
The new lineup looks like this:
- Ordyne
- Galagga
- Galaxian
- Grobda
- Tank Force
- Dig Dug
- Dig Dug II
- Toy Pop
- Namco Quester
- New Rally X
- Bakutotsu Kijutei
- Baraduke
- Face Off
- Bravoman
- Bosconian
- Marchen Maze
- Libble Rabble
- Rolling Thunder 2
- Rompers
- Valkyrie no Densetsu
Earlier in the year, Namco Bandai announced 30 titles for Virtual Console release. 25 of those have since made it out. Once the remaining five see release, the company will start releasing games from the above list.
These plans apply only to Japan at the moment, but don't be surprised if you see some of these classics in your part of the world as well.
