SLNG Commences Front End Engineering Design (FEED) for expansion of Singapore's LNG Terminal

Singapore LNG Corporation Pte Ltd (SLNG) has awarded a FEED contract to WorleyParsons Pte Ltd (WorleyParsons) to define the scope of the expansion of its LNG Terminal send-out and storage capacities. The expansion plans include the installation of additional facilities to increase the Terminal’s capacity from its current 6 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) throughput to a new annual capacity of 9 Mtpa, and the construction of a fourth tank.

SLNG awards EPC Contract for Secondary Berth Project

Singapore LNG Corporation Pte. Ltd. (SLNG) has awarded the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) Contract for the Secondary Berth of its LNG Terminal on Jurong Island. This represents yet another milestone that will further enhance Singapore’s energy security. The Secondary Berth Project, covering approximately 10 hectares of reclaimed land adjacent to the LNG Terminal site, forms part of the S$1.7 billion overall Singapore LNG Terminal project cost.

Samsung awarded contract for the Third LNG Storage Tank at Singapore's LNG Terminal

SLNG has awarded the contract for the engineering, procurement and construction of the third LNG storage tank to Samsung. The third 188,000 cubic metre LNG tank, in addition to the two similar sized tanks that are being built, will increase the terminal's storage capacity to handle up to 6 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) of throughput. Total LNG storage capacity at the terminal will increase to 540,000 cubic metres. This addition gives Singapore greater flexibility not just to meet its future gas needs, but also to pursue new business opportunities in the LNG market.

Third Tank for Singapore's LNG Terminal on the back of strong LNG uptake

Singapore's Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) terminal on Jurong Island will now have a third 180,000 m3 LNG tank, in addition to the two that are already being built. With this third tank, the terminal will have the capacity to handle 6 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) of throughput, up from the initial 3.5 Mtpa. This additional investment in the third tank gives Singapore greater flexibility not just to meet its future gas needs, but also to pursue new business opportunities in the LNG market.
