Front Line State is a project of the Maryland Citizen Action Network (MD CAN) www.mdcitizen.com. MD CAN exists to form a network of communication among liberty-minded individuals and groups throughout the State of Maryland.

The name Front Line State is a rejection of the common practice of referring to states as “red” or “blue” states. Calling Maryland a “blue” state implies a permanence that de-activates conservatives. We prefer to view Maryland as the front line in the fight for liberty. As such, Front Line State is a news site but has a limited government agenda. We are activist citizen journalists. We differ from old media outlets in that we do not pretend to be neutral.

Front Line State is a relatively new project and currently acts as a news aggregator for liberty minded Marylanders, but we have already raised a few stories to national prominence. As we go forward and funding becomes more available we plan to break more news on the site and provide more original video or live streaming content.

The editor of Front Line State is Jim Jamitis (jim@mdcitizen.com, editor@frontlinestate.com).

Front Line State is on Facebook and Twitter.
