In the very beginning of 2014, news broke that Evanescence singer Amy Lee was suing Wind-up Records for $1.5 million in unpaid royalties, along with other allegations. However, it seems like part of Lee’s struggle with Wind-up has come to an end, as the rock vixen just announced that she is finally a “free and independent artist.”

Along with Lee’s financial issues with Wind-up, the singer apparently claimed the record label attempted to sabotage the band by appointing Evanescence under-qualified promoters who lacked useful ideas. Evanescence have sold over 25 million albums throughout their career, and now it appears that Lee and the band are free from any contracts as far as future recording plans go.

Amy Lee has remained quiet since the initial announcement of the lawsuit, but in a pair of Twitter posts, the Evanescence frontwoman celebrated her freedom:

In a second tweet answering a fan’s question, Lee revealed that both she and Evanescence are free agents:

That’s not the only big news Amy Lee is celebrating. Back in January, the singer shared the happy news that she is pregnant with her first child with husband Josh Hartzler.
