What he’s been up to lately:
Finished my second album and just got back from a DJ tour of the U.S.

What good energy means to him:
Good energy means someone who is positive and brings something to the table.

If he were a sound, it would be:
Something out of tune.

What he thinks there is too much of, and too little of:
I believe there is too much instant gratification and entitlement nowadays. Everybody expects everything NOW. Get off your phone, get off the Internet. Go make something. There is not enough pride in a good days work.

If he could see broad social disruption in one aspect, it would be:
That people would stop believing that music should be free.

Heavy rotation:
The Best Show” on WFMU

His go-to party record:
Marshall Jefferson – “Move Your Body.”

With whom he would like most to go on a tête à tête:
Louis C.K.

Whom he considers a style icon:
Andrew Weatherall.

Advice for young artists:
Don’t expect much. Don’t expect to be the next big thing and you won’t be disappointed. It’s really hard to make a dent with all the noise going on today. If you do it for the love, you’ll enjoy it a lot more and you’ll probably make much better art.

His favorite person in the world:
My daughter Aoife.

Marcus’ WILD Wish:
My wish is that I can instill a sense of integrity and confidence in my daughters for when they grow up.
